Howdy folks! It's been far too long since Iris and I have visited here, we hope all is well with everyone!

2 years! And what a journey! Thanks to the support found here I have a best friend in Iris and many new friends from all around the tripawd community! It was fantastic to finally meet Rene and Jim last year, and we're looking forward to the May Nor Cal tripawty!

Iris is doing great! However she did give me a scare a few weeks ago, out of nowhere she couldn't put any weight on her remaining rear leg, and I feared a serious injury to her leg. I cringe every time she chases a squirrel on the fence without looking at her footing, and as much as I have Iris proofed the house and yard, its still Iris lol. I rushed her to the vet, and it turned out to be one of those things I wish I didn't notice for another hour, as right when the technician was taking vitals, she was back on all three. I chalked it up to excitement or adrenaline and paid for the xray which came back good. The Dr thinks it was just a contusion and prescribed an anti inflammatory.

The Dr did ask if she was intact, I replied no and asked why, and she replied that she looked too lean to be spayed and was very surprised and said shes the best tripawd shes seen!!! Proud pawrent here!

I just wanted to say thank you for everyones support the last two years! You're all amazing!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

THIS MAKES MY DAY! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

We get to celebrate a HAPPY TWO...TWO...TWO. YEAR AMPUVERSARY and we get some DELIGHTFUL PICTURES! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

That face! OMD!! Just adorable! 🙂 🙂 And she sure knows how to have some of the most comfy sleeping position ever! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Really glad her check up went okay. Stopping my Frankie from overdoing it is almost impossible too. Every now and then I have to make him stay inside as much of the day as possible to try and "rest" his three legs and give him one anti-inflammatory.

You are quite a SUPERSTAR around here Iris!! We are soooo happy to be celebrating this SPECTACULAR ampuversary with you! 🙂 You just melt my heart Miss Iris! 🙂

Ice cream and cake for everybody!!!

Higs!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS. We'll look forward to seeing lots of pictures from all our pals at the California pawty!

And congrats on keeping Iris slim and trim! 🙂

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

YESH! Wow I can't believe it, these two years have just flown by! She is looking SO good. And no doubt because you are such a great dad to her and watching her weight. You have every right to be proud, YAY! clap

Hey there's another NorCal Gathering on May 6, hope you can make it.

That vet scare must have been something nervewracking. She definitely keeps you on your toes. Did you ever figure out the random barfing thing?

Happy happy!

So glad to hear your rambunctious girl is keeping you on your toes, although I sure you can do without the vet visits.

Hope to see you in May!

Hey folks! Thanks for the replies, sorry I had a really busy weekend. As of now there's nothing stopping us from the May NorCal Triparty!

Rene, I never got a true diagnosis other than trial and error on Iris' barfing, but it's only when she drinks water and runs around so I have self diagnosed it as just water bouncing around in her stomach. She's much better off the leash now, so we don't have to do the fenced in dog park to go stretch our legs. I can control her water intake at the local park and all has been well. Why only Iris does it I don't know, possible some stomach damage from her poison eating days?

I hope everything is going great with everyone! Can't wait to see the Nor Cal crew in May!

I like that "Bouncy Water" diagnosis! Glad that it's been less of an issue now, whatever the cause.

Have fun at the pawty. Wish we could be there.

Your post made me smile.  I'm glad your pup is doing well 2yrs after her amp.  I love the pic of her tongue sticking out! My dog had his front leg amp almost 3wks ago and I am already worried about him injuring his remaining front leg. I was thinking of buying him a compression sleeve to give him support at least when we go on walks.  There are many different styles on line.  Has anyone ever heard of its benefits, if any?
