That is awesome.  He looks like therapy makes him happy and he gets to cash in on some one-on-one time with mom.  What more could he want?

Chuy has been putting his foot down on the floor today! Surprised He's not putting alot of weight on it, but it's on the floor!  I get so excited over the little steps, it's ridiculous.  We make him wear his harness all day and when he wants to go out, we use a 2 ft. leash, then he has no choice but to walk himself.  If he starts to fall, we can pull up with the leash so he doesn't hit the floor, but he's doing great and really starting to trust his leg.  This afternoon when I brought him in from the backyard, he actually sat down in a normal sit for a couple of minutes before he laid down.  Smile  I don't know if he's tired of lying down or learning to trust his leg again.  Whatever it is, he's doing better!  Wahooey!  I'm dancing again!  Tears of happiness for a change!  Embarassed

Sounds like hs therapy is doing the trick.  Encouraging thoughts for Chuy to keep improving, and more happy tears for you!

Yaaaaahoooo! We're dancing too! Seems like it's been days since we talked …. oh wait, it has been days! How cool to hear this news.

We like the 2' leash idea. We used to use one on Jer' when we were in crowds and stuff to keep him close. In Chuy's case, it sounds like it's doing what you thought it would do. Good thinking Mom!

We hope this weekend has seen even more progress. Keep us posted!

O.K., yesterday Chuy went to PT and was put on the underwater treadmill again.  He walked on it for a total of 1/2 hr.  We usually don't do his swim therapy at home on the days he goes to PT because it wears him out.  Dinner time rolls around, we're outside getting ready to grill up some ribs, Chuy is in the grass laying around, I'm over by his pool, skimming the leaves out of it.  All of a sudden Chuy is at the bottom of the ramp, whining to go swimming!  He won't go in though.  I try to get him up the ramp, but he won't stand up, so I go get his float coat, put it on him and up he goes, jumps in and swims around for about 10 minutes!  He's ready to come out, lays down on a beach towel and we wipe him down to dry him off.

The little bugger just wanted to take a quick dip to cool off!  He's so cute!  He's kicking that leg doing his therapy on his own without even realizing what he's doing.

This morning, he wouldn't get up and come outside unless I put his ruffwear harness on.  He has to get “dressed” now.  Man have we spoiled him!Winker
