He's still rocking the three legs, fetching whatever he wants, ruff-housing with mom and dad, wrestling to max, and being the love of our lives.  9 months ago he was amputated for osteo and we've completed 5 rounds of carbo and have been on metronomic therapy for about 7 months now.  He's as happy as can be!  We're optimistic, but this site keeps me grounded.  I keep waiting for signs of spread...it's a daily fear that I know so many of you understand.  Ignoring those fear, we celebrated!  Plain greek yogurt, sugar snap peas, natural peanut butter, and bananas.  YUMMERS (well, to him)!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Awwww, thanks Sally and Michelle and Angel Sassy!  It's a grand day.  But it's a day knowing that we've lost so many precious family members, while the rest of us hold our breath day by day, wondering when/if cancer will rear its ugly self again.  We miss Sassy terribly!  We honor Happy Hannah!

Jackson is a very extroverted, very happy guy.  He can be a pain in the butt, but I love his independent streak.  We're a good match for each other.  He brings us joy every day and if we can bring a little joy to Tripawds too....even better!

Hoppy ampiversary, Jackson . You are looking good! I think I should get my mom to make me a plate like that. I do love peanut butter. Snap peas, huh? We will need to try those next summer. They come on earlier than the beans, so we should have it made.

Congratulations, again from Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Happy 9 months Jackson!
Pugs will get a little simpler snack, just beans, so as not to irritate tender tummies.

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Yay Jackson!  Those nanners and peanut butter agree with you!  Libby and I are soooo happy for you!  You took the words right out of my mouth....we hold our breath day by day. BUT...today is a grand celebration for J Man!  Keep up the good work you two! clap

Amy & Libby

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Awwww!  Happy Ampuversary Jackson!  Those snack pictures actually made me hungry!  It has been a sad time for our community, but stories like this give us balance and so, so much happiness.  Keep on kickin' the c, Jackson!

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Hope Jackson had a truly spectacular day! Congratulations on 9 months, which is extra-special because it's three threes! And yes, we celebrated with him and for him. Evelyn had some pizza which she didn't even taste, but it had black olives on it and she would have loved it more if she'd slowed down.

Keep on hopping, Jackson!
