Yeah, in Ruby's world you're on the couch merely to keep her spot warm!winker

Just curious. Is Rimadyl the only "pain" med the Vet gave Ruby had after surgery until you asked for Gabapentin???

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

She came home with two Fentanyl patches on and that was it.  We only had a few of the Rimadyl left over from before the surgery so I had to ask for more of those, too.  They didn't offer anything else until I called and asked (begged).  Reading some posts in this forum and seeing what other dogs were given made me realize we needed something better/stronger than just an NSAID for pain relief once the Fentanyl patches were removed on day 3. Glad I found you guys!

WOW!! Can't believe that's all the Surgeon gave you! Won't even get started on what I think about that vet!

Clearly she's a gentle Soul. But I tell ya' what, she's tough as nails to have dealt with the pain from MAJOR surgery with basically very little pain meds. You are a WONDERFUL advocate for her though and you took care of that!!

And being a tough little Warrior is a great plus when fighting this poece of crap disease!

If you haven't already seen Ruby's blog and DELIGHTFUL PICTURES, hop over to there to get to know this delightful gal better!

P.S. I'm thinking of a shark attack victim costume for Halloween...

big-grin Domino was the winner in last year's 2015 Tripawds Howloween Contest with that same idea! Check that forum topic for many more fun photos and ideas...

Levi was diagnosed w/likely osteosarcoma at 7.5 years old in 7/2015 and became a Tripawd on 9/11/15. Loved life until he broke one of his front legs on 2/12/17. As x-rays showed clean bone, we decided to repair the leg. He recovered well, but in June of 2017, started to limp on the same leg. X-Rays showed return of OSA in the front leg. Levi crossed the rainbow bridge on 7/20/17, after over 22 months as a happy Tripawd.

Very, very cute picture!! Ruby looks very well "consoled", but the Shark looks like he has a sad lookmof regret on his face. BTW, he's a very handsome shark!!

How is that sweet Ruby doing?

Hugs to all
