Howdy and welcome!!!

NEVER, EVER TOO MANY PHOTOS!

I read about your sweet Eurydice (how do you pronounce that?) in your original post and I just have to say she is such a beauty. I'm very sorry that you're going through this whole thing, but how wonderful you've come to join this wonderful group of pawrents, fur-babies and fur-angels.

I feel very, very welcome here and really in tune with all, your lovely self included!

It is such a good feeling to be able to share our thoughts, doubts (and photos) with dog loving people who are going through the same fight

Thank you Pam, sending you lots of kisses and cuddles from E heartheart

Oh, her name is pronounced eureedeecee, the breeders named her after a greek legend and I never got round to changing it. Short version is Eureka !

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

Seeing the puppy pictures I realize just how big she is.   Wow!

In Greek mythology, Eurydice was the much loved wife of Orpheus.   When she died, he travelled to the underworld and used music to get permission from Hades to bring her back with him.   Lots of variations on the story, but clearly she was very loved.   Just as your Eurydice is!

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Hi Teresa! Oh yay for learning how to upload photos, we're so hoppy for you! These are GREAT by the way, Eurydice is soooo cute!

Just a couple of tips for ya:

I moved your photos here to "Share Your Story" since the subject is, well, sharing your story, and not specifically about cancer. Hope that makes sense.

Also, you can put more than one photo in your post. No need to create a new one for every photo. Just add the photo and type your message above or below it.

If you'd like some help just holler but it sure looks like you've got things going now. Yay! Smoochees to your sweetie, she's a real doll.

Yes, you got it right ! She was actually going to meet "Orpheus" around February/March and become a mom but for the first time in her life she missed a cycle. I think it was her body saying she was no longer fit to have puppies ...

But hey! she is with us and that is all that counts heartheart

Hi Jerry,

Well, I didn't find out how to upload photos on my own, credit needs to be given to one of our tripawds dad who explained what to do in a post to somebody else.

Thank you for moving my photos, you are right, they should be in "share my story" I am still learning how to use the site ... and great tip that I can upload all in one page I'll try that next time, I might even attempt to create a blog ! ...

I am so glad this community exists and overwhelmed by how great and supportive everybody is.

Sending you lots of hugs and slobber from miss cow heart

I can never get enough of dane photos. I follow an organization that trains danes as mobility service dogs. Last fall they had 32 pups born within 2 weeks of each other. I was in heaven looking at the photos.

They are such gentle dogs and as Eurydice shows, very relaaaxxxed.

Love the photos, more is better than less.

Hi there Sally and Frankie,

Really glad you liked the photos, she has always been an amusing girl !

So good to look at her as a puppy and have all those memories back ... all puppies are really cuteheart

I tried to post a little video but it took so long to download from my computer to the web that I gave up.

Where can I find pictures of your handsome boy, I'd love to see them !

Sending you and Frankie a big, big hug, cuddles and slobber from miss cowheart

Hi Kerren,

Gosh, what a cutie your kitty Mona is, me and Eurydice are in love with her heart (she has the softest spot for cats although cats are generally not too comfortable with that !)

I didn't know Danes were used as mobility service dogs, what do they have to do exactly?

How is your cat adjusting to life on three legs? I have a friend whose cat amputated his front leg when she was two, she has recovered remarkably well and is celebrating her 20th anniversary in a couple of monthsheart

Sending you a big hug and cuddles to your beautiful kitty heartheart
