OnlineI'm very sorry of his passing. Please, please know you did the right thing and please try to not have regrets. You did all you could do for him medically. And his time came. You helped him leave this earth in a peaceful way. It is a brave and selfless act of kindness.
Your heart is just hurting right now and rightfully so. He filled your world with love and companionship. Losing him hurts. His love will always surround you in some way. He may not be here physically, but he is apart of you and you will have him in your heart forever.
May peace and happy memories of Dodger come to you soon.
We are here, if you need someone to listen or to tell us more about Dodger that we didn't get to know.
Hugs.
Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.

I really agree with what etgayle said, and said beautifully. I just went through this a month ago with my other girl, so I know how you feel. We are so sorry for your loss, he was a beautiful boy and I am sure he knows you loved him enough to do whatever you had to to make sure he didn't suffer.
If I had to, yes, I would do it for a "person" too. In my mind, I love my dogs just like all the rest of my family. We are lucky enough for dogs that we can help them find the peace that isn't allowed in most states for humans. You gave him peace, you took away his pain. Bless you for that.

Dodge is gone… The Lion of our house has been put to rest , rather i killed my lion… cant get over this…it was d most difficult decision of my life…
First let me say how very sad I am for you and your family. I am heartbroken with each tripawd passing. It just hurts to loose these beautiful warriors.
Now for the quote, I understand exactly how you feel. My husband still struggles 4 months later that we had to make this decision. He still fights with the demon 'what if's'. I would have preferred to have never made this choice, but I really think it was the only decision we could make based on the circumstance, and I am quite sure the same is true for you.
Allow yourself to grieve, but be kind to yourself. We all make the best choice we can based on current circumstance. Life is not fair, if it were they would be with us, free of pain for many more years than they are given.
My sincere wish is that one day you will look back and smile when you think of Dodger. We carry those beautiful memories so the fun times can always live in our hearts.
RIP sweet Dodger. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

OfflineI am so sorry for your loss. Dodger was a beautiful boy, and you have lots of beautiful memories with him in it. Don't doubt your decision, you set him free from his pain and he knows you did everything you could to help him. One of the best things about dogs is their ability to love you unconditionally.
