Thank you very much you awesome fur friends and humans...  It's hard to believe it will be three weeks tomorrow since Bubs amputation.  We are thankful that his entire recovery has gone so smoothly, he only had one off day,  and each day is a blessing.  We're just enjoying our Bubs good days and will deal with the days that may not be so great for him.  For now, he is happy, full of life and just his old goofy self.  Honestly, you would never know he had major surgery or that he ever had four legs.  It's just the craziest thing to me how he recovered and adjusted, I'm not complaining, just baffled and thankful.

It's been extremely difficult to try and slow Bubba down.  As soon as we open the door to let him out, he takes off in full speed to chase the squirrels  out back.  He naps as usual and then he's playful in the house for fairly long periods. He's fully back to his normal activity and doesn't seem to be in any discomfort from activity.  If anything has changed, it would be that his activity level has increased and his appetite increased.  He eats well, we feed Instinct Raw Boost, Kale & Carrots, fish oil, cottage cheese, egg and some form of raw meet or salmon.  We are 24 days post surgery now and I did take him in for a general check up.  Our vet said he's never had a dog recover so quickly and uneventfully from having an amputation.  Bub's muscles are good and strong in his hind end as well his front leg.  He dropped a few  needed pounds and carries himself effortlessly.  I so want this to last for a very long time and not have to see him go through anymore pain that this cancer causes.  One day at a time is what we keep telling ourselves.

Picture of Bub and our girl Brule.  They have a love - hate relationship big-grin

Bubba your puppy photo is PRECIOUS! From the day you were born you had strength and courage written all over your handsome mug.

It's good to know that your days are filled with so much action. Bet the squirrels are exhausted from keeping watch!

And that diet of yours ROCKS! What's your favorite meat?

Between the food and the love and the proper exercise you're getting, life doesn't get any better. It's definitely the best medicine there is.

Keep on rockin'!

Thank you Jerry dawg and Sally,

Bubs favorite meat is sirloin tenders, he tears them up.  I agree his puppy photos show his strength and courage.  As for the photo with Brule and Bubba, this was the first time since Bubba's amputation that Brule felt comfortable enough to lay beside him.  For some reason she wouldn't have anything to do with him.  I remember the first time she saw him hop on his three legs, she ran up stairs and wouldn't come down or go anywhere near him.  Now they are always together again.

The squirrels are always on watch because between these two hooligans no squirrel is safe big-grin
