OfflineIsabelle had a perfectly clear CXR today, almost 16 weeks after her diagnosis. I was very worried & am so happy! That's me, but the best part of the morning for Isabelle….. the first snow…Isabelle loves the snow ( a Southern girl, who hates the heat!) She definitely didn't miss her leg playing & chasing the bunnies she adores. She chases them, but only because she is fascinated. When there are babies, she checks on them, standing over their hole, watching. The moms don't seem to mind after a while
She had such fun & had to be dragged inside.

OfflineThat's cause for a celebration! We haven't had one all day! We'll be breaking out the treats in Cometland!
Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
That's great news and definitely worth celebrating. thanks for the super duper update!!!
Your rabbit story reminded me of a time when Fortis was out back just barking away. He's not a "barker" by nature. The wife finally had enough and gave the order…………..Hon, go see what the heck your dog is into (he's my dog when it's late at night or he's acting up
). Anyhow, I put my trusty headlamp on and proceeded to see what Fortis had gotten into. As I walk to the back of our property I could see that he was laying in front of something and simply barking at it. As I got closer I realized that he had dug up a borrow of baby rabbits. He had taken his paw and manipulated them into a pile. Whenever one would try to crawl off he would use his paw to block it's escape. If I remember correctly there were 14 of them. Unfortunately 2 were killed. Fortis has big paws and these guys were so tiny that he accidentally injured two them. I ran to the house and got a shoe box and when I returned Fortis was still there guarding them. I put them in the shoe box (Fortis just sat there watching me very intently) and the next day took them to a vet next to my house who is known for taking in wildlife and when ready releasing it back into the wild. I was amazed at how this rough and tough 150lb dog acted so gentle with these tiny creatures. It truly was a moving experience. The funny part is he is suppose to be a hunting dog!!!
Sorry for rambling……….I'm know for it.
Keep up the great work Isabelle.

He IS a hunting dog. He found them, alerted you, and guarded them. What more do you want him to do?

OfflineFortis…a livestock guardian dog. That's what Cemil would have done.
