Jerry will always be an incredibly inspiring hero to all of us.  His adorable fuzzy face will always be engrained in my memory and will certainly give me strength to stay positive...

Thank you so much. That makes the work my people put into this site worthwhile. I will always be here for you and others in Spirit.

Hiya Jake,

First of all, I am sorry to hear that, yet, another fine dog has been knocked down by this terrible disease.  Lalla (moderator) knows what she is talking about having been through the same procedure with her dog.  At first, the recovery can be difficult, but some dogs bounce back right away.  I'm hoping that your Jake is in the second group.  Please keep us posted on his surgery and recovery and I promise:  we will keep our fingers & paws crossed in prayer for your wonderful dog.

All the best of luck to you and Jake,

Love, Blazer, Kitty Kimber & Mom (Vicki)

p.s.  It's good to hear from our "Spirit Jerry" who is still looking out for others as he did in life.

Jake and I truly feel so welcomed, embraced and most appreciative to all of you kind folks.  Thanks so much for all of your encouragement and love.  We feel so blessed and honored to be a member of the Tripawd family.

This may sound like a foolish question but does the Ruffwear harness  work in the same way and help tripawds who have one of the rear legs amputated?

Dearest Jake, Smooch & Sherri,

If you go to the "blog" page on tripawds.com, you will see on the right hand side a video where Jerry is demonstrating how to use the Ruffwear WebMaster Harness;  how to take it on and off and make adjustments.  How the handle helps support the dog so he won't fall and injure himself.  The neat thing is, this harness will not interfere with a rear legged amputee at all and it won't bother the dog's stitches in any way, so the answer to your question is a resounding "yes".

Warmly, Blazer & Vicki T

Thanks for the kind comments, and there are no follish questions here. Laughing

The Ruff Wear harness will indeed help provide additional support for rear leg amputees when it comes to maneuvering on stairs and in/out of vehicles.

And with both front legs remaining, it won't have a tendency to twist around the body – which is purely aesthetic, but does often require adjustment. Thanks for asking!

Thank you!  I will be measuring Jake today and ordering him the red harness... It looks so handsome on our hero Jerry so we couldn't resist.  I feel it could only help to give Jake good energy in knowing that.

Jake goes in for the amp tomorrow morning.  I feel like a nervous wreck and can't take my eyes off of him today.  Please take good care of him Spirit Jerry.

One last thing (for now anyway) Smile... I just measured Jake and he is measured at 33 inches.  Should I go with the large which starts at 32 inches or go with the medium which fits up to 36 inches???

My harness always looked a little small on me but worked fine, the adjustment straps are pretty long. If Jake is full grown, the medium should suffice. If he is "large" for his chest size – if that makes sense – go with the bigger one. Thanks for asking.

Not only will Spirit Jerry take good care of Jake, but we humble humans and our dogs, are also keeping our paws & fingers crossed in prayer that Jake goes through the surgery very well.  We will be sending pawsitive thoughts your way all day tomorrow (October 14th).

Dearest Jake, Smooch & Sherri,

I know it was only yesterday (October 14th) that Jake had his surgery, but if you find this message it will let you know that we are indeed thinking of you and we're hoping that Jake's surgery went well.  I guess we may not hear from you for awhile, as you have your worries and concerns right now; but, when you do get the chance to share how things are going, we will be patiently waiting for your response.  Our fingers and paws are still crossed in prayer for Jake and you.
