Thanks Holly & Purrkins!

I am very anxious indeed, but trying to keep positive for him.heart

We dropped him off early this morning, and have just been waiting on pins and needles all day for The Call to let us know how it went. He will be staying in their ICU overnight, and they will call again tomorrow morning to let me know when to come pick him up. I did not get to speak to the doctor who will be performing the surgery, but the tech assured me someone will be with him 24/7 even though the clinic may be closed.

For now, I am just working at home in a desperate attempt to keep my focus away from scary thoughts. Easier said than done, but I'm doing what I can, hah.

I will post here when I have an update on him!

Best to everyone here,

Sara + Leo + Zooey

You guys have been in my thoughts !

Of course your anxious you love Leo it is a scary day! Just do your best to stop any of the negatives that come in!

Staying busy in any way will help.  If bad thoughts come in try changing them to the good thoughts!

I know its easier said then done but if you try ,it  will help .Im sorry you didnt get to talk to the Vet.

Im glad to hear someone will be ther 24-7. Thats important . Leo is in good hands!

Remember your doing this for him not to him! Your giving him life without pain!

Hopefully surgery will be over soon. No idea on when surgery was schedule for?

I would imagine this will take a couple of hours? I have no idea.

Purrkins surgery for his left front leg and scapula was around a hour.

Hang in there and let us know when Leo is out of surgery and recovery!

Hugs!!

Still no update, but I'm trying to hang in there.

They did not give me any real schedule--just that there were 4 other surgeries scheduled for today and everything depends on how the doctor decides to go about them. The tech I spoke with explicitly said not to worry if I still haven't heard anything after 4:00 though, so I'm trying to maintain my sanity based on that.

Hoping I have actual news very soon!

Ah, it's like they heard me!

Just got The Call from Dr. Walshaw, who let me know he just finished surgery. Everything went well, bless!! Leo is just heading to recovery now, and he will call me in the morning to talk about getting him home. I am so, so relieved that this part is over, and very ready to get him back home and work on Recovery Phase!

Endless thank you's to everyone here for your positive thoughts and support. When I get some spare time, I will try to set up a blog page to recount all of this for any future pet parents who might be going through this, especially with how rare his specific issue was!

Many hugs and the largest sigh of relief probably ever,

Sara, Leo, and Zooey girlheart

Hey all!

I created a blog to document Leo's progress from now on. Here's my first post!

He is home again at last and sleeping like a baby. We will go over the biopsy results in our follow up appointment a week from now, and get full prognosis including any follow up treatment he may need. Thank you as always for your support here, you guys are all wonderful.💛
