Harmony was terrified of storms as well, but we got her past it by getting her favorite toy out and playing with her through the storm. We had to do it just a few times before she was reconditioned and then we didn't have any more problems.

I miss her so much.

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

We are removing the cover that the vet sent her home with tonight. I have to wait until Riley's daddy gets home from work to do the honors though, because I am scared blush and I have a weak stomach!

Thank you. We will try that after the recovery from this surgery. She's been acting worse than usual about the thunderstorms- which I think is her medications.

I'm sorry about the loss of your pup. These are my first ever dogs and I can't imagine losing one of mine (though I know the time will come).

We took the sleeve off. The incision looks amazing! No fluid accumulation, redness, swelling, or odor. Just her skin and the stitches. I'm surprised by how good it looks. She is now wearing a little t-shirt that says "tree hugger" on it and resting comfortably.

She's too funny. I think she gets sick of stabilizing herself when sitting with just the one leg. So, she'll move to the other side of us so that she can prop herself up on us. No big deal, we're happy to help big-grin but it's too cute. She's also looking like she wants to sunbathe now when I take her out for potties.

It's a good thing that she is doing so well because I just found out that I need t have surgery on Tuesday. I'm pretty scared bc I haven't before. I hope I'm as tough as my Riley.

Ruh roh! If you have any Vetericyn wound care spray I highly recommend it. And the cone of shame too.

I think the lighting in that picture is off because in real life her wound is just the white of her skin and the blue stitches. The shading from the picture makes it look bad. I did take the pic with my cell phone.

Here she is today- freshly wrapped:

Riley is still doing well. We are out of antibiotic now and only have about 2-3 days of Metacam left. At this point, we are giving Tramadol every 12 hours but after today, will only give it at night and then stop prob on Thursday. Thursday is day 14 and her stitches should come out that day- they said 10-14 days.

She is showing ore of her personality, barking when someone knocks and getting off the bed to greet us when we come home. She also has been waking up her daddy in the middle of the night for belly rubs and back scratches- yes, she's a spoiled girl!
