Hi Howl and Mama!

It sounds like you had a lot of questions answered today, good deal! You may also ask your vet if they have a payment plan if this is too much to bite off at once. Many vets do. There is nothing wrong with getting more than one price either. I wish I had done that, but Huckles was so awful to handle and transport I just went with it and got it done.  I think we paid a lot of money, and was not a "you get what you pay for" situation for us. I wished on several occasions that somebody else had done it but you know what? You do the best that you can and move on. I may have been able to get more if I had the opportunity to talk to different doctors. I don't even know if this vet had ever done an amputation before. The only thing on my mind was that this was taking too long because he was feral and it was making me sick seeing him suffer as long as he did.

I am glad you are moving forward, you sound a bit more confident now? The waiting really stinks, when you are finally able to move forward I think you feel more productive in helping your little one. You are going to rock this! And you have tons of support here from people that have already done this.

Thanks for keeping us posted, please give him a big smoochy kiss for Huck and I heart

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry

The pictures of Howl...the one of the two of you...the one with is adorable Christmas splint....A D O R A B L E!!!!

I'm glad the Ortho Surgeon validated that amputation was the best option.  As Jackie said, you "sou d" more confident now and can move ahead knowing yiu are doing what's best for Howl.

I'm glad your regular Vet is checking out options for you.  You deserve a break.  You are such aa Saint for taking care of this precious Howl.   He really will feel better once that useless leg is gone.

Keep us posted.  And remember, we're here for you!

Hugs
