hahaha You're so right Sally!! She likely always does these things but right now I'm watching her like a hawk & assigning meaning to all of it!! blushI gotta chill out a bit and let her be a dog! Damn this cancer! It has made me always assume bad things now!!

WHEW! When I saw all the new posts here I was scared but now I'm THRILLED Kylie is doing much better. As always THANK YOU SALLY for being here! We've been having a yard sale all weekend and this is the first chance I've had to be on the Forums (every time I tried a car would pull up!). But enough about us, I'm just happy that you and Kylie and the pack are doing better!! As for the drippy nose, that could be anything at all, please don't worry about that OK? As always if a discharge is green or smelly then that's concerning. But clear? Sounds like boogers to me!

Many hugs and 3 paws up for a better day today. Remember if you ever need any answers in a hurry you can also try the Tripawds Helpline OK?

Thanks Jerry! Hope the yardsale went well!

Well maybe we celebrated too soon? Kylie WAS doing great but tonight, it's been a rough 2 hrs. She started to look antsy, pacing, panting & standing staring at the wall 😳 It was overdue for her meds by like 45 mins.

We gave her the Tramadol and waited for it to kick in. Well it's been 2 hrs and it hasn't!! She will not lay down and settle! She just stands there panting at us. Or she just paces around the room. She will try to lay down but then doesn't! We ask her to go out & she seems interested so we go. She just pees and wander the yard.

She's been eating great all day yet neither of us thinks we've seen her poop!?

ive got nothing here to treat constipation! Any ideas of natural stuff would be great. Though before u say pumpkin, I don't have that either ☹️

Hmmmmm.......do you have any olive oil? Not sure Kyle will want to lick up a teaspoon or so, but you might try it.

Does it appear that she is sore anywhere up and down her back? Any tenderness anywhere?,

Does it look like she WANTS to lay down...starts ro lay down...but something hurts her so she stops?

Gums look okay, right?

If pain got a good headstart, it may take a bit of time before the Tram can catch up.

Well she did have a small poop this morning according to my husband. He got up with her at 530am 😳When she just kept panting and pacing on the bed. I said get her to eat some food & give her the Tramadol then bring her back to bed. He came back upstairs 20 mins later panicking he can't get her to eat anything so she hasn't had her Tramadol so I got up to try. It's true she's not really eating today ☹️ Even for mom! She did SO well yesterday. Still drinking though thank god!

I had to push the pill to the back of her throat, I hate having to do that. We all tried to go back to bed but she just WONT lie down. She seems like she wants to! But can't.

Anyway I knew i wouldn't sleep anymore this morning so we went downstairs for coffee & toast, she would NOT lie down. Just paces and does circles but won't even sit 😔 After almost an hour of this I said do u want to go outside? She looked interested so we're in the front yard, there's a bench here so I sat & let her wander. She FINALLY laid herself down in the cold wet grass., so I am sitting here letting her get some rest. I'm guessing it must feel good. I'm in the shade & kinda freezing, my coffee is gone & I have to pee lol But I'm not going anywhere. I will sit here u til she is ready to go in. (Or until kevin is up & can take over the job of supervisor haha) Thank God I have my cell with me to pass time.

I did try to feel her out and she seems a bit tender on the hind end. Like the top/side of her lower back. I'm not sure there is a new bump or bone on the top of her hip?? But then again u can feel the top of her spine better today too. I think she's lost weight this week ☹️ So maybe the bump has always been there? I just didn't notice because she wasn't as bony!

Nonetheless she was great until late last night. Only thing I can think of is when I was out for a run & took longer than usual and Kevin drove the block with kylie in the car to check that I was ok. I came in, stretched & cooled off and went to shower. By the time I was done he text me from downstairs to say he think she needs her pill as she's acting "weird" She was standing staring at the wall and panting. 😳She was close to pill time but she still looked fine before that so we were trying to stretch it out a little.

I should add that Kevin swears she didn't fall or stumble in the car at all, no sudden stops or turns, he went really slow. Maybe she did too much yesterday when she felt good? She followed us around more but we didn't go for any walks etc!

I am waiting for the Vet to open to update them. I'm so thankful I have today off. My last day to be with her after having a week off work. Tomorrow is gonna suck!!

Standing ans staring, panting and restlessness are all common side effects of Tramadol. Wyatt darts about like a junkie on the stuff.

Stick to your vet's recommended dosage suggestions and call the clinic with specific concerns. Check out the many pain management posts for more help determining if Kylie is in pain or presenting signs of medication affects.

Best wishes, please keep us posted.

Sending hugs.  Sure wish our dogs could talk and be able to tell us what hurts.  Just wondered if you've tried to take her temperature?  The fact that she wants to be where it's cooler makes me wonder if she's got a low grade fever?   Hope you can get to the bottom of this and hope Kylie is on the mend soon!

Ugh. Glad the Vet is open today so they can digure out things. They'll check out her lump too. A member here recently took her dog in for a bony lump on her leg...seemingly right on the vone. Yeah, the Vet assured hernit was justnpartnof the bone and supposed to be there and was always there! 🙂 Vut this journey makes ya' crazy sometimes!

If I've read your previous posts right, the panting, etc was as the Tram was wearing off at around the tenth hr...maybe?? And then she settled nicely within the first hour of the Tram being given...right? But last night the panting, etc continued even through the dose. Weird.

Glad you're getting to the Vet today.

You and Kevin are such good advocr for Kylie!!! 🙂 I looooove that you "stayed strong and held your pee" so you wouldn't ove and disturb Kylie!! And then yiur husband worried about you because your run tookmlonger than usual (so sweet btw) and put his pal Kylie in the car so they could go check on you 🙂

Okay, we'll be waiting for your update.

Love and hugs

Wish I had better news. It's been an emotional day.

Will try to be brief although u know it's not my strong suit..

Went to Vet appt. and went over all symptoms & behaviour since last week. Vet did a physical exam & found the tender area was on her abdomen, a hard mass near her bladder area which shouldn't be there. Decided to x ray abdomen & her leg as well.

XRay shows a mass in her abdomen but it was faint & in a weird area. She wanted to rule out constipation given her poor eating habits lately so we did an enema then x rayed again, it was still there ☹️

She is concerned with her medical history (cancer) that it could have spread to her lymph glands now.

She is sending everything to Kylie's Oncologist to review and then they'll call us. She suspects he will want an abdominal ultrasound done to confirm findings. So now we wait. The Vet said to increase the Tramadol for sure to every 8hrs instead of 12. She figured it is the pain in her belly causing her to not want to lay down. Makes sense.

We have cried ALOT. Worrying & wondering how long we actually have left with this sweet girl. So after our big cry & lots of kisses and cuddles, we drove to the lake and let her soak that sore belly in the cold water. She loved it! You know labs & water! 😄 Also Vet said feed her whatever she will eat. She lost almost 3lbs since our visit a week or so ago.

Life is short. If this journey teaches us nothing else.. it's that! We were already cherishing every bonus day we got with her for the last 10 months, but now these coming days seem even more precious ❤️

Please keep our girl in your prayers. Hoping with the swim & the extra dose of Tramadol that she will get a good nights sleep tonight.

Do you have oneof those large kitty pools...or can you get one tomorrow and full it up with cold water from the hose? I bet she might like that. It's not exactly the lake....maybe you could even throw so e dirt in the vottom to mzke it muddy like the lake!!

Okay, not the news you want to hear, but at least you have a "possible" explanation of what's going on. So the leg seems okay but the lump in her abdomen is causing the issues. Nkw they can figure out a plan once all the info comes in.

To try and ask you to be patient is pretty worthless, right? And glad you ket the tears flow hard so you can get refocused. Because once you know EXACTLY what you are dealing with you WILL be able to come up with a treatment plan to shrink that thing, or maybe even get rid of it entirely!! At the very keast, there may be some good palliative tings you can do to extend her quality time.

Regardless, continue to make EVERY DAY BE KYLIE'S BEST DAY EVER!! Just like you've done every day you have had her.....and she has had you!! As you know, none of this means anything to Kylie. What does matter is each moment with you because each moment is pure bliss with you two loving and spoiling in her!!

On, and maybe try several small meals....that may help. A d I do believe more trips to the Lake everyday are on her schedule! We MUST have pictures.

In the meantime, try the kiddie pool....and pizza crust with cheese and ice cream and steak....hand feeding her whike she's in the pool!! Now that has to be Lab Bliss!!

Update us when you can. We're cheering for Kylie and she has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon!!

Sending lots of love and hug and the healing energy of your tripawd family

Funny u should mention the kiddie pool, I went to walmart this morning to buy one for $12 but kevin talked me out of it, pointing out the fact that she's a tripawd and it's slippery and she is already avoiding laying down, he didn't see her using it. But now after seeing her enjoy that cold lake water, I'm going to buy that damn $12 pool tomorrow!! I don't care if I have to buy those non slip peel off duckies u stick to the floor of the bathtub! I will make it work! THEN i will send pics 😄 She has been laying down more since the extra dose of meds. I'm sure it's taken the edge off.

She has been zonked out beside me on the sofa for probably 2hrs now, and snoring! And still damp from the lake lol She needed this rest so I am glad. Time to make her a snack again soon though. I need some new ideas!

Oh And hand feeding her in the pool?! Kylie said she likes u even more now Sally 😁

Thank u for the pep talk, I mean it. You're right, I WILL feel better once I know for sure what we're dealing with here. For now, it's lots of kisses and snuggles. ❤️

You go girl!! 🙂 Great minds.....you go get that pool girl!! Men just don't understand how creative women can be!! 🙂 What about laying cheap yoga mats down..don't k ow if they woukd be slippery when wet or not.

Let's see what other ideas TEAM KYLIE can come up with! 🙂

Glad the meds seem to be getting her more comfy now....that plus a relaxing spa day in the Lake!! 🙂

Good job Mom!! We're gonna get some more good extended quality time for our SUOERKYLIE!!! 🙂

CANNOT wait to see pics of Kylie in her Spa Pool! 🙂 What's the phrase..."...just do it and ask for permission later?" Something like that?! JUST DO IT!!

Love and hugs!! 🙂

Haha yes it's better to ask forgiveness than permission 😉

She just woke from her long snooze and shared a toast with peanut butter with me and a slice of cheese and a few dogbones. And had a big drink. Then I did my physio stretches on the floor & she came over to get in the way & give me kisses as usual. I love it. My girl is still in there! She's not done fighting yet ❤️

I will work on the pics!!

🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 Soooo glad to read this!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ya' know, I still wonder if, in addition, she does have an unseen tweaked muscle somewhere. I know she has the abdominal issue and all, but just the fact that rest did seem to help some. And now the Tram seems to be helping at a little more frequent dose, maybe the pain and being uncomfortable was from BOTH. Now the pain meds, along with a swim in Spa Lake, are helping both! So if it is both, maybe the pain will be better as the tweak gets better. I dunno...just thsrt crazy thought crossed my mind so threw it out there!

Your girl is DEFINITELY not done yet! She's SUPERKYLIE!! heart

Yes I want to stay optimistic as well! Thanks for that. ❤️ The mornings are always the worst with her, for obvious reasons. She just woke up, she's stiff and sore, needs her meds, doesn't have an appetite yet etc.

So this morning when we went outside she peed then walked around a small bit then got comfortable in that same spot as the other day when she just laid in the cold wet grass. So here I sit in my PJs.  Need to be at work in 45 mins and I've been just letting her get cold relief from the grass for about 1.5hrs.

Shes had one Ritz cracker, 2 spoons of peanut butter and I put her Tramadol to the back of her throats because she wouldn't eat it when I hid it in the cream cheese ball today. Other than that we are fine. I've figured out (I think) how to add some pics for u guys.
