Casey is doing great.  His little Golden brother, Jet, we're not so sure.  About a month ago, we noticed a lump on Jet's chest, near his armpit.  It is not a happy lump, as it's harder than a lipoma and growing too fast.  It doesn't seem to be attached, and I can only describe it as shaped like a balloon or toffee, twisted at both ends.  Crap!  It's not a lymph node, nor are any lymph nodes inflamed.

Jet is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, and we'll know more then.  Hopefully we'll have pathology results by the end of the week.

Positive thoughts everyone, please?  Jet is six and will turn seven in August.

JET!!!  WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON FELLA'?   Did you grow a lump because Casey was getting all thr attention??

Okay,  most times a lump is just a lump. And that's  probably  the case with Jet's lump.  It could ve soooo many harmless rhings.

The entire Tripawd Family is sending  pawsitive energy. ..and that's  some powerful energy!!

We will keep our paws crossed for Jet. Remember, you can't tell what a lump is just by feeling it, so that's great you are being so proactive about it. GOOD JOB! clap

Give Casey smooches for us, we are so happy things are going well!

Silly Jet!

No need to get lumps just to get attention! You are loved without the lumps! I promise! OKAY?

Hoping everything goes well for your Jet boy!

Jet's surgeon thinks that his lump was a chondrosarcoma, not nearly as serious as an osteosarcoma but still not good news, because there is no treatment other than Excision. There is no chemotherapy.

This is another canine bone cancer, and what has me confused is that Jet's tumor was not attached to a bone, so we'll just have to see.

Crossing our hearts for pathology by the end of this week, but it will most likely be early next week.  In the meantime, he's resting with his head in my lap recovering from a tough surgery even though he only has a 5 inch incision or so.  The tumor was woven into the muscle in his chest wall.

Awwww poor Jet! I hope he is feeling better by this time tomorrow.

yeah, chondrosarcoma is one of those weird ones. It's like "Well if it has to be cancer than at least it's not osteosarcoma." The lesser of two evil diseases. We did ask an oncologist about it several years ago, and I'm pretty sure not much has changed. See:

Sounds like an owwee ouchy for poor Jet.  Ugh.  Sorry that he's  dealing with this ....and sorry you're  dealing  with it too!

Yeah, it could be worse relatively speaking.....but "relatively speaking" doesn't  make it a darn bit better!

Once the report comes back, you'll have a  better idea of what you're  dealing with and can move forward from there.

Hugs to all 💕

I hope you get the results quickly and I am praying for benign. Maybe this is nothing, and if it is not attached hopefully it will be an easy removal.
