I am really sorry to hear Zuki is not improving and can picture the description you made of him dragging his back leg as I saw it with hip displasia dogs ...

But there is still hope it is something fixable as others said.

I am holding my breath and praying hard that is the case.

He knows just as we all do that you will do everything in your power to help your sweet boy.

Sending you all the pawsitive energy I can master and holding you both very tight in my mind 💗💗💗💗🐶

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

I am so sorry that you are going through this, and Zuki too. I would like to say that my dog started out with limping and pain, and then ended up having a TPLO surgery in August. She was doing really well And then started backsliding. That's when we did some more x-rays and found OSA.  She had her right front leg amputated on 10-26-16. We're are two weeks out and she's doing OK.  Actually she's doing really well!

We started out with the Adequan and did two 1-2 injections a week I think for two months. It made a huge difference. She has arthritis in her neck or spine and also the TPLO leg.

About three days after her amputation She overdid it and couldn't walk either. With some rest she got better.

It sounds like Zuki is a lot worse off than Rosie as far as pain in the back end and back go. But what I wanted to share with you is how much Rehab really, really helps. I know you said you live on an island but if you can find anyway to get Zuki to someone with an aquatic treadmill, laser, acupuncture and electronic muscle stimulation, you just might find that Zuki will do well.

Rosie starts back on the treadmill this week, and it's my understanding that the time on the treadmill in the warm water really, really helps get their core muscles strong. With the arthritis and other issues we are trying to beef her up as much as possible muscle wise.

It sounds like you're doing everything you can and my heart breaks for you guys! Please know that you have all of our love and support as well as understanding. Sending positive energy your way!

Oh Zuki, sweet, sweet Zuki my heart breaks knowing you had to leave 😔😔😔

At times like this even if we know we did everything in our power to fight this stupid piece of crap disease that brings no consolation at all 😩

We just want our babies with us, it's as simple as that ... and accepting it was beyond our control is not easy ...

I know you will miss Zuki like crazy nothing can replace that sweet boy of yours ...

But one thing you can be certain of is he is with you in a different form, the love you shared is too precious 💗 only his body left, his soul is right there with you💫

He is forever living in your heart and although it is excrutiatingly painful to want to cuddle him and realise he is no longer there if you close your eyes and really, really, think of him you will feel his presence surrounding you.

I know I did and still do with Kinky who left me almost 6 years ago.

So wish there was something I could do to ease your pain but sadly nobody can do it for you.

My heart is right there with yours and Zuki's hope you can find peace until you meet again

Zuki I hate it that you had to leave us!  I am glad that you are no longer in pain!  Run play like the pup you are in your heart. My Baby Bandit is there. Find him. He loves to play.  Mom. Hugs. Big big hugs. With lots of tears. I know how hard this is. No words can make it better. Remember the fun times and celebrate Zuki. lots of love. Deb and Angel Bandit
