It's been a little over a month since Mac passed and I think I'm strong enough to start posting pics and video of him as a memorial and educational addition. It's very short and was taken about a month after amputation. He only had about a week and a half out of the eight weeks post-op he lived that he was doing ok, and this was during that time.

Hi Jacki!
Funny I was just thinking about Mac today and wondering when we might get to see his pictures. He is a cutie and looks like he was doing quite well at the time. I hope you are holding up these days. Gosh, this has been a hard time for so many.

I'm glad you had some video of him! Man…I think if you looked up "tail" in the dictionary, Mac's would be there. It's beautiful! And his face is so precious. I hope you have more to share, cuz I can't wait to see his pics :)

Aw thanks guys. He was definitely beautiful–in that clip he had a haircut all over and then was shaved at the bottom for the surgery so his tail looks humongous, like a squirrel. I wish I could have taken longer clips of him walking but he wouldn't go but just a few steps before lying back down. I uploaded another vid to youtube of him just being himself (before surgery) and I need to make a blog to start posting the pics. I'm still crying every day…it's so lonely without him and it's still hard for me to get out of bed. I know it's hard for everyone though who has lost their loves on here.

Jacki,
Mac was so beautiful. I am glad that you are starting to heal. Some people gve us a garden stone that says "Dogs leave pawprints on our hearts". It is so true. Our grief is strong because our love was strong. I wish we would have take video of Emily. You were smart to do it. I guess I thought we had more time. Newbies, don't follow my example. Take lots of pictures and videos.

Thank you for posting this, he was adorable, sweet face. Healing is a long, hard path. Hang in there and try to remember the good times. I am looking forward to seeing more pics of him when you are ready.
