Email this link of Vader, the 8yo Rottie amputee, to the gal too.

I am in CA, but I have a friend that teaches at Auburn University's vetmed and they have one of the top canine osteosarcoma specialists there.  She has been advising and reviewing Raven for me since this started last spring (the bone lesion was initially a negative biopsy until recently).  She showed me Vader's video and encouraged amputation.  I have to say Vader helped me tip the scales to decide.  :)  And as we all know, even if it doesn't increase their lifespan, it will remove the source of pain.

I am going to take one of the Tripawds business cards to my vet so that they can refer clients here, it's sooo helpful!

Thanks for the reminder! I often wonder whatever became of Vader after the topic he started here in June of 2008.

These are some videos of our boy Baron.  Baron was hit by a car and sustained serious injuries to both front legs.  One front leg was amputated while the other front leg was put in an external fixator for 6 months.  Baron was imobilized for 6 months only being allowed to walk when we put him down for potty.  Some of the videos are of Baron before the accident, in the hospital, the after care at home, and the full recovery.  We only have one video up of Baron after his full recovery but will post more soon.  Baron has since lost all the weight he gained and is back to flying around at the dog park.

This video of Hurley before and after surgery will bring a tear to your eye, it's just so beautiful to see how relieved he looks after getting rid of the bum leg. Check out his blog post about it.
