He's home!!!
He greet us all, wagged, took his meds, ate, drank his water, went out to the backyard to pee now he's crashed. I think he's sooo happy to be home.
He only 1/2 fits on the new orthopedic bed
my husband bought, but seems to like it at the moment. We brought his old "flat" bed downstairs if he is interested.
Sally,
I just ordered the "investment" bed you recommended in a large size. It's being delivered Friday. You seem to think it's worth it? I don't need him getting pressure sores on his remaining elbow.
The schnauzer our family lost recently (Sweetie) was one my sister and I had rescued (puppy mill mom) for my mom as an 80th birthday present.. I fostered her until we could bring her to Florida to her new parents. She was a spoiled beautiful little girl and I think my parents loved her more than me or my siblings. She lived with us all summer and we would visit her often, but she was my baby. We had her for 4 years, my parents (and all of us are heartbroken) My brother's daughter is on spring break, so they are in Florida. My brother just bought my parents and little baby girl schnauzer today. Mom and Dad now have a reason to get up again, they have to feed and walk the dog, and are thrilled. Puppy at 84 and 87!!
Bad times, but then always hope... Things are looking brighter.
I am working from home to be with Dusty the next (2) days, the weekend, and he see's the vet again Monday to get the bandage changed.
Thank you all for your support and suggestions. It's been invaluable!!
Yay Dusty!!!
So glad to hear you're home and back with the pack. Boy what a lucky dawg you are to have family with you for four straight days! I know Sweetie is right there by your side in spirit, making sure everything goes great.
Yep, that Big Barker is a pretty sweet bed, we agree 100 pawcent.
Rest up kiddo, you've got lotsa good times ahead.

Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
So Dusty had his surgery Monday, home Wed. and I've been in the family room with him for 2 days. He is great!!! Sleeps allot, but he is on pain meds and that is probably what he does when I am at work. No indication of pain. We took the cone off when he came home. He is all wrapped up.
He just seems to be recovering quite well. I had so many worries. He is the same guy.
Wagging, wants his toys, pets, going out. Just a little wiped out.
He half lays on his orthopedic bed but is still waiting for his "Big Barker" to be delivered.
