Love the harness, and it fits Otis perfectly, but I notice that it twists to one side as he hops.   It doesn't bother him at all, but on all of the photos of dogs on this site  the harness is sitting perfectly upright.   Suggestions?

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Yay glad you like it!

Yep, what you are experiencing is the one nagging issue that happens when a dog is missing a front leg. As you know it doesn't affect the use of the harness in any way, it's just pesky. It happens less with the new Webmaster, but still does it, especially on dogs with smooth fur. One thing you can try is playing around with the front 3-point chest straps (not the two underbelly ones) to see how you can position it better so there's more a bit tension on the side with the leg.

We do appreciate the feedback. As a front legger we would love a brief review from Otis to publish in the Tripawds Gear blog . If you want to do it, PM me and I'll send you a couple of easy guidelines to follow. Thanks for considering it!

Hi Guys,

I am looking for the best harness for Tèa as she has recently become a full fledged right front leg Tripawd. Would love recommendations. I saw the newest Webmaster Plus and wonder how that would work for her. She gets hot easily, so my second concern in addition to the twisting of the harness is breathability with the brush guard. I'd appreciate some feedback as we need to get something soon as her incision is nearly healed and I'd like to get away from walking her by her collar. Thanks guys. Cheers, Connie & Téa

I love it.  The twisting just looks odd - it doesn't move around or anything, just isn't aligned perfectly.  I thought perhaps I was putting it on wrong.  I like the feeling of control and security it gives us on walks. When I use the handle, I don't feel like any straps are digging into him.  I have been clipping my lead to the harness which keeps the lead up and away from his feet and allows me to exert gentle pressure without worrying about unbalancing him.  This is really the first nice weekend, but Otis did not seem too hot or bothered by the harness.   He even rolls in it.  If it got really hot, you could probably remove the brush guard for more tummy ventilation.  I am a big fan, and would recommend it.

Hi Guys. Thank you for your advice. I had watched the videos and with your recommendation I just bought & took Téa for her first walk with the Ruffwear Webmaster harness and it worked beautifully. We don't even have to step into it! I think we've found our harness! Cheers

Cora is a front leg amp and her harness is constantly twisted to the side. It doesn't bother her at all and the harness works for her so I don't worry about the twisting. Given Cora's special needs that harness is a huge boost to her quality of life.
