Hi All,

Great site. A lot of helpful tips. Just adopted three-legged Rugar. The Humane Society told me the operation (his right rear leg) happened just this past month so he's missing a lot of fur. They expect it to be back by the spring. Well, we live in New England and it's cold this time of year. Any idea where I can find a sweater for Rugar's unique situation?

Hi Putski, thanks so much for opening your heart to Rugar and joining us here at Tripawds. What a wonderful human you are!

Off the top of our heads we don't know of a sweater for rear-legged dogs (brrrr...sounds cold over there!), but we'll start wracking our brains to find one for you. Anyone out there know of a good sweater for Rugar?

Hi there, I know how that feels!! Also had my fur shaven for my operation - just as Winter crept in...  This didnt help alot for my arthiritis..  I didnt get a sweater - grandma just made me a nice bed inside and have since then been sleeping next to their bed... and sometimes on the bed. hiehiehie...

Good luck with growing back the fur!!

Lotsa licks,

Dee xx

Try looking for Fido Fleece. They are fleece jackets for dogs, I got one at my local Pet Supplies Plus store for by Great Dane Nova. I think there are several online retailers who sell them, try http://www.prem.....escription

Dane Mom Sue at nova.tripawds.com and Mom to Beautiful Great Dane Queen Nova, a Blind Tripawd, who kicked cancer's butt from 11/08-03/13. The Queen is Spirit Nova now, but her legacy lives on here at Tripawds!

fido fleece dog sweater

The purple sweater I'm wearing in many of my early photos is a two-legged Fido Fleece Dog Coat. I've heard they now make a four-legged version which covers the rear.

Goodlooking dawg there Jer, that coat looks mighty fine on you.  As for mine by Mom came up with a crazy idea.  She got her sewing machine out and adjusted the extra sleeve to be closed (I had a front leg missing).  Makes you think about the need for these....hummmmm.
