Hi,

First, I love all the pics! The two of them together are perfect.

How old is your girl?  I'm assuming there has been lots of blood work done and all that is OK?

On of my pugs had a couple neurological issues and her gait looked similar to yours. has your vet discussed vestibular disease?

She's so darn cute, it's hard to focus on her gait.

Not a professional in any way, shape or form, okay? But it seems like the way she is using her remaining front leg now, is the way she was using both front legs before....that kind of "straight arm hop or bounce". And her rear does seem to turn to the side a tiny bit...but that could just be because she is wagging her tail so hard! So some of this, not all may just be the challenge of adjusting to her new gait.

A second opinion certainly could help.

I really enjoy seeing her pictures.....keep em coming!!

Hugs to all your pack!!

Gosh Karen...it does remind me of my Bodie when he had "attacks" of thst vestibular stuff!!! If I recall, his "spells" were treated with dexamethasone??? Does that sound right? And that cleared it up. May not be remembering things right.

Just wanted to let you know we are putting sprocket to sleep tomorrow! she has had some really good days and had her stitches out yesterday. The vet did a repeated test on all her movements but within an hour we saw a difference in her. Sadly this morning she couldn't stand, we rushed her back and we have tried a steroid injection to help her nerves but sadly it doesn't seem to be helping. She currently getting lots of cuddles and treats. We really don't want to put her through more and sadly cannot afford an mri scan.

thank you for all your advice xx

Ohhh, I'm sorry, so very sorry.. I just was looking at the lost with the ADORABLE pictures and then scrolled down and saw this update. Tears fkr you and with you. We are family and we have all fallen in love with this precious soul.

I sit here shaking my head in disbelief snd continue to scroll up and look at these delightful treasured photos and smile through the tears. So much love, so much contentment, so much happiness and joy. These are very, very loved dogs!

With every fiber of my being I'm hoping tomorrow is a better day. For now, just stay in the present with her. She's content just being with you and eating junk food!! You are still together and now is all that matters!

We are here with you, okay? We are sending you strength and serenity and a whole lot of love.

I do hope you can stay connected and share more about perhaps THE cutest dog on the planet!!

We understand the depth of loss like no others can. And we understand the brutal twists of fate over which we have no control. You did EVERYTHING possible for your beloved Sprocket, but there were underlying issues that could not be foreseen nor stopped. Trying to type through the tears snd knowing there really are no words. Your upcoming days and weeks and beyond won't be easy. To llve so hard makes our grief that much more gut wrenching.

Jerry always refers to "this" part of the journey as just a blink of an eye in their lives. We must remember the thousands snd thousands of happy and joyous days you and Sprocket had together! She clearly knew what love and happiness felt like because of you!

I'm glad she had some good days. Maybe her physical condition wasn't quite right, but NOTHING touched that beautiful soulmof hers and NOTHING stopped her from being Sprocket! Watching Animal Planet while being served pizza...what a way to transition!!

And I guarantee when she went running to the Bridge in that healthy vibrant ew body of hers, they had a welcom wagon full of pizzas with gooey cheese and yummy crust waiting for her! She doesn't even have to watch Animal Planet now because the Bridge is full of every animal she could ever imagine and they all love to play with dogs...especially the Meerkats!!

Sprocket will always be with you. She will make the presence of her energy known. Right now just know she is free to run and frolic and chase tennis balls all day long!!

It is a true privilege to get to know Sprocket and her gang! She touched us all deeply and she will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

Sending love and surrounding you with Sprocket's eternal grace,

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle

Ohhhh my gosh I was so sad to log in today and read this, my heart goes out to you. How we wish that every dog could have a long, long time with their people after losing a limb. It breaks our heart when this happens, I'm really sorry.

I hope that in time you will be comforted by all of those good times you had together. Celebrate that lifetime you had with her, let those happy memories be what you hold dear and close as you think of her. Now that she is an angel, she will forever be shining a bright light in your life wherever you go.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you're doing. We're here for you now and always.

Thank you all once again.its been such an hard day but we know we did our best for her. We gave her so much love in the8 months we had her and she got to spend time with her son who loved her so much and stayed by her side.

today gizmo has been very down but our old dog has been by his side. We just have to wait a week now until sprocket comes home her ashes will be with us forever.
