Oh noooo 🙈

Between the skunk smell (in all of its cider vinager and thieves and purification oils “glory”) and the liver smell, well 😷😷😷😷 ...

Your house must feel lethal for the moment 😳😬

Good you are keeping your spirits up and are getting ready for bath number three 👍🏽

Good luck sweetie !

Can we have a picture of Fallon and her new bed when it arrives ?

Bet she is going to adore it 💓🛌💓

Hugs and cuddles 😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹

Another plus for this company, free shipping, I got the email notification today the bed was shipped and arrival should be about the 20th--22nd, but FedEx tracking says tomorrow.  It's a week and a half early for her birthday, but we'll present it tomorrow or when it arrives--or as soon as it reconstitutes out of the box smiley  No sense in waiting for the pawty!  It will be like having 2 birthdays!!  I'll take pictures...

On skunk smell--we're doing pretty OK.  We used a solution of peroxide, dish soap, and baking soda.  I can still smell skunk on her head,  but not nearly as bad, you have to get really close.   I didn't want to leave the solution on too long as I didn't want Maggie to become a bleach blonde.  I washed all the beds (we already have tons, I just wanted my three legger girl to have a new, special perfect one) and aired out their pillows outside, as Maggie laid on every one before I could get her de-stinked.  Overall, we're getting back to normal here.

Fallon's left front leg was amputated due to osteosarcoma on 10/11/17.

Oh how exciting! We can't wait to see photos.

I remember when Jerry got skunked, we used that same shampoo. He did smell a little skunky for quite a while afterward, and we had to toss out his collar.

Whew! Hopefully that critter won't show up around your yard anymore.

Oh no.. poor things!  Skunk is just a force to be reckoned with, ugh. I don't know how you do your "recipe" but this is guaranteed to work.. even if you have to repeat once and make sure you get her muzzle...  You have the peroxide, baking soda, make sure the dish soap is "Dawn original", and original Scope.. add the Scope to the mix and let that goop sit on her for about 5 minutes if you can. I generally layered it and added the peroxide last on to the pastie dog, lol.

When Rose got skunked I was afraid to do her face too well. Didn't want it to get in her nose, eyes, etc. In doing that I also wasn't quite thorough enough and so until I rebathed her she was fresh and clean until she got her nose up in yours then.. ughugh LOL.

Hugs to all of you, I also found a great enzyme cleaner and odor remover but for different reasons, lol. One of my cats decided mutiny as soon as they saw puppies and peed on one of our new dog beds, sigh. Rocco and Roxie Stain and Odor Eliminator, and Angry Orange odor remover are the two things I used. I had washed this bed 3 times and it still smelled like cat pee. I sprayed the Rocco and Roxie on it and let it sit a couple of hours for the enzymes to eat away at the odor. Put it in the wash and added the Angry Orange instead of fabric softener and all gone. Of course they were available on http://amazon.t.....pawds.com/  big-grin

If you end up trying another bath, please let me know how you do. I just found out after bath number 2 that the puppies are wild children in the tub and not necessarily in a good way, lol.

Fallon started out sleeping on the floor last night, but got on the bed sometime in the night.  This is now:  the headrest is also a backrest!  She can use it however she wants. heart It's not quite puffed up yet, the instructions said it could take 24 hours.

@Jackie, thanks so much for the tips on removing stinks.  I'm going to try adding Scope to the mix when I can run out to get some.  Maggie's head is still a bit smelly.  I think, as you said, I was going easy on the head so it wouldn't get into her eyes and nose.

Awwww... Sweet pictures of beautiful girls!!

I know what you mean about the head area, i just had to go slow. I have seen that odor stay in dogs for months. It just never goes away. One of the vets i worked with tweaked this the way i said and it is fantastic! Good luck and hugs to all of you! ❤️❤️❤️

Fallon looks so comfy!!!

Yes, it definitely  takes at least 24 hrs to completely expand.  Looks like Fallon isn't  interested in waiting  though!

No more skunks Maggie!

Things are going well with the bed, with a few bumps in the road.  Fallon sleeps on it in the daytime, but not night--she sleeps on the floor beside it.  I am giving this some time to work itself out.

We have been told by Big Barker that the mattress itself is defective, but usable.  Like Sally's experience, there was something wrong with the foam.  Big Barker told me it only happens in 1/1000 of their beds, probably due to too much glue or a packing issue.  I sent them a quick email as I thought the cover had a little too much play in it, I could grab a bit of it rather than the tight fit in all the pictures.  So they are sending another, due to arrive Tuesday (we will be at the oncologist, so surprise when we get home!!)  We are keeping the old bed too, they did not want it back and they said it's perfectly usable, just not their standard of quality.  I would have been perfectly happy without a new bed, but am accepting this new one gratefully.

And the Birthday Twelve celebrations have begun--I bought 2 big turkey wings that the girls enjoyed in the yard yesterday, and  2 pretty birthday cookies at the dog bakery, for maybe tonight!!

Hey there sweetie pie🌻

Cannot believe you and Sally are in the 1/1000 group, that makes you both extra special 😂

Great you are getting a second bed, this could be the “night bed” for Fallon, hey?

Maybe that was the plan.

Clever Fallon must have picked up the first bed was not completely purrrfect and all she had to do was wait for the “real birthday” one to arrive 🛏🎁🎀

Talking about birthdays I am thrilled to hear the celebrations have already begun 🎈🎈🎈

Turkey wings and birthday cakes for the girls, yepheeee 🦃🦃🎂🎂

It would all be absolutely fantastic was it not for the fact there are ZERO pictures and videos 🎥 and we are waiting with our tongues stickin’ out for a “live” recording of these amazing landmarks: two new beds and twelve year old celebration pawties 🛌🛌🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯🕯

Love, hugs and cuddles 😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹

In case you want to correct me regarding the zero pictures, okay, I admit.

I am being slightly (just slightly) over the top here.

And yes, there is that one super cute picture of the girls in bed.

But we need more !!!

So glad you are having  an easy and supportive  transaction  with the Big Barker people.  My 1/1,000 was five years ago and I had the same exemplary  service back then as you now.

I love what Teresa  said about the second bed  being delivered  in her birthday 😎

And don't  forget about the ice cream to go with her celebration  cake.....and we want pictures!!

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

@admin--done smiley

@Teresa and Sally--Pics coming!  I started with turkey wing pics Friday night, just have to post.  I hope we can get a birthday pic with Dr. Sue on Tuesday.  Most may land in our blog.  Angel Eurydice has been working her magic, we're due for nice, sunny hot weather on pawty day!!!  So ice cream sounds perfect!!!
