OfflineTrouble had a spa day yesterday – bath and nail trim. She was doing so good, mobility was good AND she's lost 5 pounds! Yea! I was so excited. Got her home – took her out of the car and she just crumpled on the ground. Just not enough strength in her back end to go any further. We rested in the grass, in the spot where I unloaded her for a long while – 30 minutes or more and with my help she was finally (after several tries) able to get on her feet and into the house. I immediately gave her a Rimadyl. She laid in the kitchen all evening, with me by her side. At bed time she started trying to move about, but just couldn't get enough strength to get on her feet, so I put her on a blanket and pulled her into the bedroom. I thought she would sleep on the floor, but nothing doing. After a failed attempt to get up and on the bed, I picked her up and put her on the bed. She slept peacefully all night.
She was moving about a little so I've been up with her since 3:30. Gave her another Rimadyl and thought maybe she would try to get up a little later. When I took Duke out she tried unsuccessfully to get up. We came back in and I tried to see if she would get up with assistance. Wasn't happening, so I moved her back to the blanket on the floor.
I'm hoping, like last time, by this afternoon when I get home she will be able to get herself up and go out. She is very alert and doesn't seem to be in pain, just not enough strength in her back end to get up and about.
We need good thoughts, doggie prayers, and some crossed paws and fingers.

I'll bet she was on her feet for quite a while during her spa day yesterday. There's the bath, the blowdry and the brushing etc. and she's standing that whole time. She's probably just tired out. I know Rocky was pooped after his bath / brushout the other day and didn't get off of the floor until the next day.
I don't know how active Trouble normally is, but to stand still for any length of time seems to be difficult, at least it is for Rocky. His back legs will get weak and shake.
We are sending good thoughts Trouble's way, and hope she feels stronger today.

OfflineUPDATE –
Before I left for work, she got up and ate her breakfast, rested about 15 minutes and then went out to potty. When I left she was still resting in the kitchen. Bob called while I was driving to let me know she had gotten up on her own and hopped back to the bedroom to join he and Duke.
I think we're good to go.
Thank you all for the responses. It is so nice to come here and have you guys for support.

You have NO idea how encouraged I was to read this. Thank you so much for posting!
Oh, and you can tell I was a bit goofy when I posted….not thinking right now this topic has a thing to do with Healthy Eating (except she did lose 5 pounds)

Oh Trouble, you really scared all of us, so so so happy to read you are doing better now. Congrats on the 5 lbs, you are PAWSOME!

We had a scare about a month ago, it must have taken Gus 5 minutes to walk from the barn to the house, usually a 30 second hop, then he had a hard time with the steps, and that has never been a problem, but I found out he was wandering the fields WAY more than I thought he was, took him almost 4 days to look normal( as we know it now) again, so hopefully Trouble will rebound a little more each day, Paws up for you guys, Gus and Dan
Shanna & Trouble,
You both will be in our thoughts and prayers that you just used too much energy at the spa. I know that I enjoyed going down and visiting Jenifer. She would not schedule anyone else for these days just to make sure that we had plenty of time to play. So, just rest and keep all of us posted. Remember that those of us on the West Coast get a later start and I do have to wait until Dad starts up the computer in the morning.

OfflineGlad to hear Trouble is doing better getting on her feet. When Ruthie had a spa day, I stopped the blow dry just to limit the time she had to stand. Hope Trouble continues to get stronger.

OfflineOh Shanna, what a scare. I'm betting too it was a lot of standing for her. Getting the royal treatment is exhausting!
I'm so glad you updated, thanks. If you get a chance to talk to Bob this afternoon let us know OK? And yeah, I'm so bummed that your time zone is ahead of us, I wish we could've been there sooner when you first posted.
Hugs to you all and extra ones for Trouble.
