Hi Guys, this is Sparky (aka Mr Sparklepants, for the lovely ladies out there)
every year or so, my Mommy looks in the mirror, says "ugh, bathing suit season is coming", and then starts eating differently. I think she wants me to wear a bathing suit, because she seems to be feeding me her skinny jeans diet. Can you guys please take a look at what I am eating and tell me if it seems OK to you? I get this twice a day. I have a big appetite and I am at a perfect weight (34-35 pounds). It tastes delicious and I gobble it all up. But for the record, if the plan is to get me into a bathing suit… I WILL NOT GO INTO THE WATER!!!!! NO HOW. NO WAY. FORGET IT! Not even one toe. Mommy says I am stubborn. Who ME?
1/2 cup cottage cheese
2 boiled skinless boneless chicken thighs (or the same amount of boiled fish)
3 Tablespoons parsley
1/2-3/4 cup Veggie Mush (steamed and food processed blend of Red and Green Cabbage, Broccoli, Kale, Carrots)
I also get (and have for years) fishy oil pills (the same ones Mom takes, Omega 3 or Krill)
One doggie multi vitimin
Mom also says she has ordered something for me called K-9 immunity which she will talk about with the vet

OfflineThat looks FABULOUS!
When it comes to home cooking, we find that the amounts needed to keep us filled up but not overweight (or anorexic!) tend to vary and often need to be adjusted. Play it by ear and see how it works for ya.
P.S. Broccoli is fine for many dogs but for others it's the cause of extremely stinky farts! So watch out for that one unless you want to use the stink bombs as ammo next time your Mom tries to get you into the water.

Offlinecause of extremely stinky farts!
Another fabulous description from a tripawd! At least Monkeydogs have decorum!
Bwhahahhahahha!
Hey Sparkplug,
Your teeth are going to rot without anything crunchy! But what do I care. I hope you have to get in the water and go swimming also!
Bwhahahhahahaaahhaaaa!
Monkeydogs Have the Smarts! Tripawds Have the Stinky Farts! (their words, not mine!)
Hey Sparky, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
You might get your Mom to add some tripe to the mixture
Boy oh boy did I love it.
I hope you are having a great weekend.
Hi Fortis,
thanks for the suggestion. Should my Mom cook this tripe stuff somehow? Boil it?
And hey Monkeybutt. I don't chew my food. Never have. Takes too long. Tough ex-street dogs like me don't have time for that! So even when I used to get special expensive vet crunchy dental formula food, I would just swallow it whole anyway.

Sparkey, you are going to give some of these guys a run for the money with your personality. Keep it coming!

My Dad used it as part of a complete raw food diet. He would buy it in bulk (150+lbs) from a local Greyhound facility here in Austin. As I made my way into my middle years he put me on kibbles but I still got tripe and sweet potatoes from time to time as a treat. And no, it wasn't cooked or boiled. All I know is that I loved it. And Sparky, you don't have to chew it and it smells super duper good too!
Sparky, you don't know what your missing by not taking to the water my friend. There was a time when I hated it as well but it would soon become one of my favorite things to do. It's good for you too.

We do not want to know where you stored 150 lbs of tripe!
Mr. Admin, I had my own box freezer. Yep, I sure did! I even went to Home Depot with my Dad to pick it out too. The tripe was only part of the goodies that filled my freezer. We would meet this big truck where Dad would buy around 300lbs of beef, horse, lamb, venison and assorted organ meat. I always remember lots of negotiating going on
P.S. That's not what my tripe looked like. Mine was green and gooey good

OfflineI'm gagging a bit!
Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Lucky Fortis! I bet my dogs would LOOOOVE goodies like that, but you can't get that stuff at the regular grocery stores around here, you have to go to the Mexican meat market. Unfortunately, I don't speak a lick of Spanish, and neither does Doggy Dad, so that makes it kind of difficult!

Yeah well…..I hope you have to go swimming AND have to eat raw, green, gooey tripe with your rotting toothless mouth! Being the wise Monkeybutt-bunny Vampire Pirate, I know what tripe is!!
I will send Mommy out shopping for icky stinky stuff next week. This mornng she boiled up some chicken, then some fish in the same water. Then she threw some garlic in the yummy stinky water and boiled it down to make it really yummy. Now we have lots of food for the week. She said that I am probably getting an operation and might not be too hungry.
Hey Monkeybutt..are you half cat, or three quarters?
