I was recently introduced to Petandim a few days ago by a rep that gave me a bottle to try on Zuko. They have a human equivalent that has been out longer called Protandim.

The product is said to reduce oxidative stress (which is linked to many diseases such as cancer and diabetes) through Nrf2 activation. It is also said to support joint function, mobility, flexibility and cognitive function as well.

This all sounds quite too good to be true but I wanted to know if anyone has tried it or has heard of it before? IDK how much to expect with this product but Ive listed the ingredients below just to get anyones thoughts on them.

Ingredients:

OXIDATIVE STRESS REDUCTION FORMULA: (150mg)

Milk Thistle Extract (Silybum marianum) seed
Ashwagandha Extract (Withania somnifera) root

Green Tea Extract (Camellia sinensis) leaf
Bacopa Extract (Bacopa monnieri) whole herb
Turmeric Extract (Curcuma longa) rhizome

JOINT PROTECTION FORMULA:

Omega-3 Fatty Acids (120mg)
Collagen Type II from Chicken Sternum Cartilage (contains glucosamine and chondrotin) (125mg)

Never heard of it but here are my thoughts for what they're worth:

This all sounds quite too good to be true

Yes, I'd agree that they make some pretty big claims. Unfortunately the supplements industry is so unregulated that manufacturers can claim a lot of things about their products before they get investigated by authorities. But...

I can respect that the manufacturer is a member of the following organization. This is a big step toward transparency and integrity for their products. I've read about the NASC in veterinary industry publications, and the group has earned respect within the profession.

The National Animal Supplement Council (NASC) is a trade association dedicated to protecting and enhancing
the health of companion animals. The NASC (National Animal Supplement Council) Quality Seal assures consumers that manufacturers displaying the seal on their products have met rigorous quality control and labeling standards, and have passed a comprehensive quality system audit. The Seal program is part of the nonprofit NASC’s effort to promote consumer access to superior health and nutritional supplements for companion animals— primarily dogs, cats and horses.

I also like that the FAQ for Petandim is comprehensive, explaining exactly what is and isn't in the formula.

I like that there's a money back guarantee on unused product.

About the only thing that raises a red flag for me is they don't say where the ingredients are sourced. That's my big concern.

Just keep in mind that none of these ingredients have been concretely proven within the traditional veterinary community to help improve the health of dogs, beyond what's been shown in the company's own studies (which of course could be biased).

Otherwise this seems like a 'do no harm' product that if you felt like you wanted to try and the cost of buying it isn't a huge burden, then why not give it a go.

I'm a little late in the response, but in the event someone else sees this, the product is truly magic. My fourteen year old dog was having trouble getting up steps, within a week she was running up them. The blue haze in her eyes was gone in a week and in less than a month, a fist size knot has shrunk to the size of a quarter. DO NOT order from Amazon though! Yes, you may get free shipping, but you're getting fake products too. Petandim can be ordered thru a distributor or directly from the company, Lifevantage.com. As far as the Veterinary field, three vets I know have signed up as distributors after seeing the results of my old girl.

That's a pretty cool report Delaine, thank you. And I especially appreciate the suggestion to order from a reputable source, like a veterinarian. Yes, there are many fake medications and supplements being sold on Amazon, it can be hard to tell who is legit if you don't get it right from the manfucturer's Amazon storefront.

So happy to hear your old gal is doing well! Thanks for sharing.

We use it!  I've been using it for only a month on my tripawd bulldog and my female bully.  I can't say I've seen any results as they have both been getting along fine.  My tripawd lost his leg in late December and he's only 6 so his recovery went fairly well.  I decided to start using it as a preventative as they age.

I decided to start using this product as my mother takes the human version, Protandim, and it has literally given her her life back.  She suffers from life long back, neck and leg issues.  Her pain was to the point where she could barely get out of bed most days.  She was living on pain meds.  In humans it takes a month for every 10 years of life to get to it's full effect.  She just turned 80 so that would be 8 months.  It actually took 14 months before the results really started to show and WOW she is doing SO MUCH BETTER and she's off the opioids.

I have a friend who is a distributor.  She's a personal trainer and masseuse.  She trains the average Joe all the way to professional athletes who will travel to come train with her.  I have seen and heard what Protandim has done for so many of her clients.

If it's working on people...why not dogs?

Also wanted to add I showed it to my holistic vet who is also a western medicine vet.  He said there is nothing wrong with giving them this and that everything in it is good stuff.
