We had to say good bye to Sierra

After seven absolutely amazing years, we had to say goodbye to Sierra this afternoon.  After her right front amputation in January, she was doing amazingly well.  Then, few weeks ago she slowed down and it turned out the cancer was back in her lungs and her kidneys.  She was also showing signs of infection so we were hoping to fight the infection and then have a little more time with her.  We put up one hell of a fight with some absolutely amazing vets and oncologists though.  She was truly a special girl, as they all are.  We only hope that she has found those that have gone before her so they can have a blast and maybe kick a little monkey butt you know what (I think they are just wannabes at heart).

While we did not spend a tremendous amount of time with you all here, we are truly greatful for the support and experiences you all have shared with us.  We will continue to support and follow the site and contribute where we can.

I have some pictures to post but I need to look up how to do it again.

Thanks,

Brad, Anna, Kenner, and Spirit Sierra

Such a beautiful tribute to your Sierra!  If you're anything like me, you will find yourself watching that video many, many times in the coming weeks and months.  It is obvious that she had a wonderful life with you.

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us. http://ranger.t.....pawds.com/

Brad, Anna & Kenner,

Our hearts go out to you, we are so sad to hear this.  She was a beautiful girl and far too young to leave this earth.

What a great life you gave her. Your beautiful tribute video shows how much you love her and what a big part of your life she was (and always will be). Now, may her spirit run free and may she swim to her heart's content at the other place we call the Rainbow Bridge. Someday you will see her again.

Lots of love and condolences coming your way, we are so sorry.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

So sorry to read of your loss. Sierra looks like such a sweetheart. Looks like she had a great life and shared a lot of love with you.

Run free Sierra!

Sending virtual hugs and kisses from Abby,

Jackie, Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Sierra looked like a very funny character, there was so much love in that life she had!  She looked like she enjoyed every moment, even sleeping :)  Thanks for posting the video.  I am so very sorry you lost her at such a young age.  My deepest sympathiescrying
