Okay! I have a confession to make! We have a new member of our family, a Westie pup, 9 weeks old, named Grizzley. I do believe he was sent to us by Nitro, there were many signs suggesting this. But still, I treated him like "my dirty little secret", and didn't tell many people for fear of being judged. I felt I would be judged for bringing someone new into our home "so soon" after losing the love of my llfe, my heart dog. We needed to laugh again, to experience joy again, and Grizz has done that. Not having that Joy wouldn't bring Nitro back, and I needed to focus on something besides grief. He is the anti-Nitro, and is helping to heal my heart. He will never take the place of Nitro,  and that is ok....but he makes me happy, and I am greatful to have found him.

Paula and Warrior Angel Nitro

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

Paula you've made a huge mistake here!  How could you share news like this without adding pictures???  We need to see puppy Grizz!!  You can't share this exciting news without pictures!  Judge you?  NEVER!  I absolutely love your words!  "Not having that joy would not bring Nitro back".  You are a wise woman.  Nitros paws are all over this!  Signs were everywhere!  Nitro knew what his ❤️ Mom needed and sent exactly what you needed at exactly the right time and place.  Well done Magnificent Warrior! clapclap

Ha ha!!!! This sounds like my exact post over three years ago!!! Fear of judging ... fear of sharing ... dirty little secret! There is never judgement here .. this is the safest spot on earth most of the time!!!

We are delighted to meet Grizz ... I can tell he's brought joy and laughter and smiles back into the house... and you have allowed him to do so (unlike me that wanted to fight and still does ... the love jasper and I try and share). I am sooooo excited for this cutie puppy!!!

Puppies bring joy and laughter and smiles!!!! And you saved him as much as he is saving you all!!!

XOXO

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

O.M.D.

Stop it right now, I CAN'T TAKE IT!

I'm so happy for you guys!

And if we are sharing dirty little secrets... I actually talked to the pug rescue group before Maggie passed.  They had a booth at the MAF K9 Cancer Walk I took Maggie and Tani to in May.  I wasn't planning on it, but for some reason I stopped and talked to this wonderful woman named Gena (I later found out she was the rescue president).  I explained Maggie's story of two cancers and my fear of Tani being an only pug since she had NEVER been the only dog in the house.  I told her that it was Maggie's time but when she passed I would probably be contacting them.  Maggie passed about a month later.  I got a hold of Gena a couple weeks later and Obie came home with me 5 weeks after Maggie passed.

And here is the part that still gives me chills- unbeknownst to me Gena was fighting her own cancer battle which I think is why she went out of her way to set me up with Obie.  Gena passed away from cancer about a year after Obie came home.

Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

Congratulations Paula! Little Grizz is rediculously cute and I am totally biased. My growing up dog was a Westie named Bonnie and when I say growing up I mean that- Bonnie lived to be 17! Westie pups are so dang cute! I am so happy for you. Grizz is in no way a replacement but you clearly have a heart full of love (yours AND Nitro's) and it is brave to share it with this new little one.

Ok now I've got a confession.  Even though I shamed Paula for not adding a picture of little Grizz I was actually lucky enough to already have met this little bundle of joy.  She had to travel here to my city to come to meet him and she invited me to come along so of course I jumped at the chance to do so.  I've never had the opportunity to hold and love on such a tiny bundle in my life!  5#s of wiggly sweetness!  Puppy Hank came to us at 8 weeks at 17#s so he was already 3 times bigger than Grizz.  Well...lets just say I was and remain enchanted with Grizz. I'm thrilled for you Paula and I've seen and heard the happiness Grizz has brought you, John and Kodi Bear!  Sometimes it is and has to be a leap of faith and seeing the "signs". 😀
