Sami, fifteen year old three legged dog

This week, my sweet friend Sami passed away after a long and courageous battle with osteosarcoma. We will miss her tremendously. Our deepest sympathies go out to her pawrents, Michelle and Stephen.

Sami was fifteen years old, and a heroic example of how senior dogs can thrive and have a beautiful life after amputation. When we met her last year in Los Angeles, we were amazed by her strength and spunk. We had such a great time hanging out and getting to know eachother.

If anyone is ever in doubt about how a senior dog can adapt to living life on three legs, just point them to this video. Sami's joy at living life will erase any doubts that people have about what a tripawd can truly do. She was  a true Bone Cancer Dog Hero.

Sami, you will always be our superstar. Fly free girlfriend. Run with the wind, howl with the pack, and eat everything and anything you want. May your spirit go on to guide all of our furry friends and show them how to live life with the kind of courage and spunk that came so naturally to you.

You will forever be in our hearts.
