We read the devastating news today that Ted E. Bear has earned his wings.

Ted has been such an inspiration here. He bounced back from amputation surgery in January, and recently went to a Relay for Life Event where he inspired countless other people. He was only 5 years old.

Ted's departure happened so fast, I can't even imagine how Cheryl is feeling. Please send her your condolences if you have a second today.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

I can never make anyone understand how much support Cheryl has given me through my incredibly rough spring and summer. She and I chat almost nightly. We have a little routine and chat either here or on Facebook. Cheryl makes sure I'm hangin' in there, and we talk about Ted and Izzy and Dakota and Evelyn. I feel I can offer nothing comparable to her now.

There is much unfairness in our world. Ted was sweet, special and an angel. Maybe he spent his whole life trying on wings. He practiced being an angel every day.

I hope Izzy finds her way without her brother to guide her. Littermates have a special bond, and Ted and Izzy were joined at the hip. And I hope some peace finds its way to Cheryl and Tom. They are special people who make the world a better place.

Skyler earned her wings and regained her right rear limb on 6/11/2010. Chloe earned her wings and joined her sister Skyler on 4/4/2011.They are now "Happy Together" with all the other Tripawd heroes and other furbabies that are running free at Rainbow Bridge.
