Please join me in celebrating the life of Holly, who transitioned peaceful at home today, and in providing our support to her Mom, Lisa, and pack.  Holly was 13, and lived a great life on an Australian sheep farm.  When she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, it had already spread to her lungs.  From my communications with her Mom, I can tell that she was much loved and will be greatly missed.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Sweet dreams, dearly loved Holly, of your wonderful life. Wishing Lisa and the rest of the pack comfort.

heart

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Ohh Lisa, we are all so very sorry to hear this. Even though we only got to know Holly briefly, we know the depth of love and devotion you have for her, and she for you. We cry with you today.

You were given a rotten ssituation to be in these last several weeks. Know that every decision you made was out of love for Holly, and that means they were all the "right" decions. These last few days were just a blink of an eye compared to the thousands and thousands of happy days you and Holly spent together. Know that all those happy memories are what Holly has in her heart and what she wants you to remember.

Thirteen incredible years of loving and spoiling! Lots and lots of love. But that also means the void will be devastating for a long time. Your routine with Holly day after day has just disappeared. You dread going to bed. You dread getting up. The pit in your stomach and aching heart just won't let up. The waves of grief knock you to your knees.

Please know this to be true. The sadness does eventually lessen as the happier times push it further into the background. And good ess knkws Holly left you with spectacular happy memories!

Maybe you can think of one right now. Close your eyes for just a moment. What is one of the things she did that made you laugh out loud? Visualize it, feel it. That's right, that's the memory Holly wants you to hold onto.

Stay connected. You and Holly are family. When yiu can, please share more of Holly's great life with us. And ket us know how she makes her presence known to you, because she will! She will send you a sign she is very present in your life.

Surrounding you with Holly's eternal grace...

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

I'm really sorry to hear another pup got her wings. Too many, just too many these days.

Through the tears we celebrate Holly's life here on earth, and will watch for signals from her in the heavens. We'll listen closely for the sounds of her happy bark, along with all of our other Tripawd hero angels who have welcomed her to the pack.

What a lucky girl to live in such a beautiful land down under. If you have any photos we'd love to see them.

Run free Holly. You will be missed.
