Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've visited the site, (I'm Jo Anne by the way). I wanted to say Thank You to everyone here for all the help I received while our Chey fought through her cancer battle.

We did everything modern medicine wise, and did our best with natural home therapy as well, like choosing a grain free diet. However Chey's cancer was very aggressive and spreading microscopicly and was undetected on every test. No leasons, or tumors or suspicious looking things showed up on the ultra sounds or xrays, but she was becoming anemic. She became "down" the night of a blizzard, stopped eating and I had to give her water with a syringe. Once we dug and plowed out, we took her to the emergency room, we already had a feeling this was "it". She passed on her own peacefully January 25, 2016.

We did not get her as a puppy, we took her in off the streets where I was working at the time in 2006. They estimated her to be about 3 or 4 years old. I'm just so glad for all the years we had with her, and that we were able to give her the life an animal deserves, full of love and fun. Every year since 2006 she was the star of our Christmas cards, including 2015, her last Christmas. We took her for her last four wheeler ride through our yard to her resting place. We told her she will always be with us and in our hearts.

Jo Ann,

I'm very sorry that Chey crossed the Bridge.  You gave her a wonderful dogs life, and that is the best thing there is.

I hope the happy memories bring some comfort as you navigate your new normal.

So sorry about your precious one!  Be grateful she just went to sleep on her own, having to make that decision for them is so tough.  I pray that you will find another precious one that will not take the place of Chey but bring you new happiness.

Jo Ann, my heart goes out to you, I'm so sorry Chey earned her wings. She was such a lucky dog to find you as a youngster, and have so many great years with you. It's never enough time, but all those happy memories help us get through the grief and last our whole lives. Her happy face in the photo you posted says it all: what a lucky girl to be in your pack.

All our condolences and love coming your way. Please feel free to share more about her life with us, and post more photos. We are here to lean on.

What a beautiful Christmas picture of your sweet Chey. My condolences for your loss and your broken heart.

Remember, time doesn't exist at the Bridge. For her, you're already there with her.

xoxo

To those who have lost loved ones, I'm so sorry, I know how heartbreaking it is, but we are all here for each other. Those of you going through this stressful disease, hang in there, and may the good days out number the bad. Remember, "it is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all."

Oh Jo Anne. I'm so sorry the adorable Cheyenne needed to head on over to the Bridge. We feel your heartbreak with you. We understand the void that she left in yiur heart, in your home, in your daily routines. This journey is so intense a d our grief is no less intense.

Chey inspired us as she overcame each hurdle with you by her side. She really raised awareness about the chemo having a side effect that no one had pinpointed before. This little girl is quite the pioneer on so many levels.

You were her advocate from the day she "picked" you from her street roaming days. You never let her down and she felt your love every si gle day of her earthly life. She has carried that love with her to the Bridge. She left her love for you nestled safely yiur neart.

I jave ro confess, I keep scrolling backnup tomlook at that ADORABLE picture to help keep the tears away. It is IMPOSSIBLE to look at that DELIGHTFULLY happy beautiful dog and not smile back! That pose...the joy in her eyes...the cute sweater....this is a treasured memory that really does represent a dog who had nothing but joy and happiness in her life because you found each other.

How very kind of you to think of others while your grief is still so raw. Yes, we are all here for each other and we stay family forever. I do hope you will continue to share more about the amazing Cheyenne...WITH PICTURES! Jerry will.post them for you.

Cheyenne, thank you for making a difference here in so many ways. You will ALWAYS be remembered here!! Your life mattered.

And the Bridge just got a little more colorful at Christmas time with everybody styling sweaters like Chey the Fashionista!!

Surrounding you with Chey's eternal grace and happy smile

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Chey.   I can see the love you have for her.  It shines through like a beacon of light.  Chey is at the bridge healthy and whole running free as the Warrior Princess she is.  She's telling all at the bridge about her amazing life and how loved she was on earth.  Keeping you in my thoughts at this hardest of times.
