OfflineWe just got the sad news that Dilly, a 16.5 year old, ten year survivor of mast cell cancer, has earned her wings.
Dilly wasn't a Tripawd but she was a beloved pup and family member to Gina Snow, Tripawds' favorite holistic veterinary expert and Auntie to Maggie the Agile Cow Dog.
Besides being an amazing pup, Dilly was truly something special who proved that even with the most terrible diagnosis, the odds can be beaten!
Her spirit will live on in the wonderful work that his Mom Gina is doing for the animal community and here at Tripawds.
We are so sorry for your loss Gina, we know that even with a long life like Dilly's, it's still painful to say goodbye.
Run free, Dilly, we will miss you.

Oh, wow, what can I say….THANK YOU for posting this about Dilly. You are so correct, no matter how long the life is, it is always a huge hole when they leave us.
Cancer never got the Dilly dog after that original diagnosis all those years ago. It was actually her spine that gave out after years of having just too much fun with the frisbee and just being a Bull dog without a care….:-)
It was THE hardest thing I have done to date but I rest easier now knowing she is comfy once again…..
Dilly will always remain my inspiration about holistic health. Without her, I may have never found this path soon enough for me and my entire furry family.
RIP Dilly Bean, you truely were one remarkable girl,

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge. We honor our fellow November Five members who will always remain forever in my heart: Nova – the lone survivor, live proud and long; Spirits Max, Cherry, & Tika – who made half the journey with us and greeted Trouble at the Bridge

and not to make everyone cry, but this says it all:
I LOVED YOU BEST
So this is where we part, My Friend,
and you'll run on, around the bend,
gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there you'll surely find.
I will go on, I'll find the strength,
life measures quality, not its length.
One long embrace before you leave,
share one last look, before I grieve.
There are others, that much is true,
but they be they, and they aren't you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
will remember well all you've taught.
Your place I'll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
take with you this…I loved you best.

OfflineGina,
So sorry you had to part with Dilly- but what a survivor! Truly an inspiration and a testament to love, faith, and a holistic path. What a blessing that you got to see that face turn gray.
I hope your memories provide you with strength and peace in this difficult time of transition.
