Hey Kim,  Thanks for the chinese herb link.

While reading other posts, andysgreatestfan's Secondary sarcoma to Osteosarcoma reminds me of Neoplasene (a potential weapon?) which I have come across while surfing a while back.

Take a look at these two topics.  Poster Emmitfolks is using Neoplasene:

Hi Genie,

You must of read my mind. I looked into this and from what I could gather it seems to be a salve. I don't know how this could be used with the lung mets... If you find anything else, please post it. I even picked up Essiac Tea , vitamin C and golden-seal. I've also put him back on K9 immunity . I gave it to him with the initial diagnoses in April and discontinued it when I saw a holistic vet and went on the supplements he recommended. I am trying to slow done the lung mets. He currently has about 20 small opaque spots spread out through out his lungs. I saw the x-rays myself & he was clear in August.

I don't know why it is spreading so rapidly... praying for a miracle right now. However, I do believe in quality of life rather than quantity. The vets scared me they said a piece of the lung mets could break off& I would have to get him in asap! Has anyone heard of this happening before?? Now I am afraid to leave him alone. Predisone was also mentioned.

Google +neoplasene +"lung cancer", you will get some links.  e.g. case of intestinal adenocarcinoma, then having lung mets: http://www.leon.....Cancer.htm

Google +"whole dog journal" +neoplasene ... http://findarti.....tBody;col1 (looks like there are 4 forms of neoplasene products)

http://holvet.b.....bel/cancer

Also, I used to give Genie this product: http://www.canp.....phs/SM.pdf as a preventive measure to minimize chances of lung mets (she left not because of lung mets, something else took her sooner).  Try adding the ingredients from the product if they are not already been given to Buster.

One more: http://www.cani.....rtemisinin, scroll down a bit for Essiac Tea as well.

Thanks Genie, you are so awesome at finding that information so quickly! We really appreciate all you do here.

We know that our friend Sandra, Luna's Mom, did comprehensive research on Neoplasene. We will ask her if she can comment here.

Meanwhile, we've started a new thread about this important subject, here in the Forums. Kim, if you decide to pursue it, will you comment about it in the new thread?

There is some information about Essaic Tea in our Forums.

Kim, Dr. Mullins also warned us about the possibility of a met breaking off, but downplayed the risk. In our case, she didn't think it was likely.

Try not to worry so much, we know it's hard. Be strong. We are thinking of you.

Just read the news about Buster's lung mets...  my heart is honestly just aching for you both.  How shocking... I can't imagine how you must have felt when you first heard the news.  You and Buster have always been such an incredible source of strength and encouragement for soooooo many of us Kim.  I know this journey of cancer with our fur babies often seems unfair and cruel but we can never give up hope.  We will be praying for more positive news for you and Buster regarding his treatment.  Big warm and healing hugs are being sent your way on this cold and snowy day in the northeast!  Smile

Hi,

Very bad news with the oncology dept. I sent a copy to Jerry... now they are telling me Buster only has weeks. Not worth repeating in an effort to keep hope alive for everyones sake

My homeopathic vet doesn't use any thing mentioned. I did contact the other vet mentioned in regard to Neoplasene.

They also gave me some info if a want to contact a social worker at the Univ of Penn to help deal with this... I would rather get support here.

Thanks so much...

Kim, so sorry to hear of the prognosis.  I understand that you recently have got Essiac Tea, and put Buster back on K-9 Immunity . At this point when U Penn is not planning to do anything else for Buster, it might be worthwhile to give Neoplasene a try if your vet is willing to speak with Dr Fox from Buck Mountain Botanical to work out a plan (I would imagine the oral form would be more suitable).  Neoplasene sounds very aggressive in killing the bad cells and yet preserving the normal ones.  Hope that it can help to win the race against time.   Hugs.

Thanks Kim, you got it! We'll always be here for you and Buster, just like you've been there for us and others.

Try your best not to focus on time, nor dwell on when "the day" may come. Remember, Buster wants you to be with him in the now. Every day is a great day.

Hi,

Thank you Jerry & Genie. He is doing well. You would never know something was wrong with him. Besides some minor, clear nasal drippings, he is eating well. We just went for a walk, enjoying the cold weather. He loves this time of year. He is taking his supplements and RX's. He is always a model patient for me. I am monitoring him 24/7.

Stilling waiting and looking for a Dr in the area to maybe help me...

Please keep us in your prayers. I need strength and Buster needs prayers from St Francis.

Kim,

Hang in there & give Buster all that you are giving to him. Be strong for him, as hard as it is.

You are one of the most upbeat people here & I know you can do this for him.

I wish there was a magic bullet I could send to you to ease your pain.

Hi Kim & Buster,

This is such horrific news.  I'm in a state of shock.  I want to check out every link that has been posted in the forum thread to check out Neoplasene.  Even if it is a salve, we must remember that skin is the largest organ of any animal's body and it's very possible that Neoplasene could be absorbed through the skin and find its' way to the lung mets.  It may be worth checking out, for sure.

In the mean time, I am so very sorry to hear this news.  I haven't heard from you "email-wise" in awhile and I was afraid to email you because I know how busy you have been with trying to pass those exams and now you are trying to increase your speed with the math exam.

We are keeping our paws crossed in prayer that something can fight Buster's lung mets and that the doctor's are only giving you a "worse case scenario" in the time that Buster has left.

Hello,

Everything in my life as taken a back seat right now and I am making Buster my top priority.  I wish there was a magic bullet. I told myself, "I'm not going to cry today" and so far I've kept that promise. A friend of mine stopped by to spend some time with Buster. He remembers Buster as puppy. He feels Buster has been through so much and I owe it to him, to  make the remainder of his life stress free and peaceful. When we had our vet visit, Buster was visibly shaken and scared. At home is where he should be surrounded by love, family and friends. No more strangers poking and prodding at him. No more new drugs that may make him sicker (besides his current RX's to keep him comfortable). I am sleeping with him on the couch and spending every moment with him, since cancer doesn't take a holiday. Please take a moment to say this prayer for us:

PRAYER FOR OUR ANIMAL FRIENDS
Heavenly Father, our human ties with our friends of other species is wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of Yours. They have trust in us as we have in You; our souls and theirs are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and fill Your ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have.
(Here mention the names of the animals needing prayer).Buster
Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and Your grace flows to all Your creatures. From our souls to theirs goodness flows, touching each of us with the reflection of Your love. Grant to our special animal companions long and healthy lives. Give them good relationships with us, and if You see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us, but only drawing closer to You. Grant our prayer through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored You through all Your creatures.
Give him the power to watch over our animal friends until they are safely with You in eternity, where we someday hope to join them in giving You honor forever.
Amen.

Thank you for your friendship,
Kim & Buster

You and Buster have a good friend there. Heed his words and you wil find yourself enjoying this time with Buster, much more than if you go to extremes trying to delay the inevitable ... Peace.
