I just wanted to thank everyone for their support last year.  On February 4th, 2016 we made the difficult decision to let Leah go - we had reached the end of the journey and did not wish for her to be in any more pain.  After an amputation, splenectomy, and three kinds of chemo, plus a bisphosphonate, we gave her every fighting chance.  Histiocytic sarcoma proved aggressive and hard to treat for us.

Thank you again.

So sorry that you reached the end of your journey, but at least you know you did everything you could and she knows that she was loved.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Awww guys I'm so sorry, my heart goes out to you and the pack. Leah fought like a brave warrior princess and no matter what, cancer can never take that away. I know that no amount of time is ever enough with our Tripawd heroes, but I hope that the time you had together was filled with beautiful, hoppy memories to last a lifetime.

May Leah be romping in the grass, chewing all the bones and peanut butter treats her heart desires. She will be missed, but never far from our hearts.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh, I'm so sorry about Leah!

I remember her story because she had the same kind of cancer as Murphy.  I'm glad you were able to have another holiday season with her.

I'm sorry Leah had to go on ahead.  You gave her a wonderful life and every chance, I hope that knowledge brings you some peace in the days and weeks to come.

So very, very sorry to hear this. Leah was family. We all grieve with you and our hearts break with yours.

That Leah sure did show "young seniors" living life to the fullest on three legs was easy peasy!! Leah jumped into our hearts from day one.Leah ..moved on after ner amputation and never looked back! She just got on with life...didn't even waste time on a "rough recovery"! Steps, jumping on the sofa, no problem!

You did EVERYTHING possible for her and she knew it and she appreciated it! Translate doggy hears ro human years and you gave her an additional "seven" years chock full of @lving and spoiling and treats snd bone chewing and squirrel watching. And, of course, more rime kn the couch!

This part of the jkurney is hard, so very, very jard. It seems like the grief will never end. The void, the change in routine, the not watching over your tripawd, it all hurts. You will cry for a long time. The waves of grief will hit you out of the blue.

Leah wants you to remember to good times...and there were sooo many good times! Eventually, slowly but surely, the happy times will push your sadness further into the background....PROMISE!

When you can, we would love ro hear more about your precious Leah AND, of course, with pictures! I LPVE the one of her under the Christmas tree...now that's a gift! And Leah will always be with you. Ahe WILL make her presence known. Watch for signs, for messages. Would love to hear how she connects with you.

Surrounding you with Leah's eternal grace....and peanut butter breath!
