A Mr Cow!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 :-).  I am soooooo thriled to read this!!! 🙂  OMD!!!   And make no mistake about it, Otis is thrilled too...especially since he orchestrated the whole thing from the Bridge!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂    That's something all the Angels do almost immediately upon arrival.  They start "interviewing" from dozens of applicants who THEY have picked out for you!

Every one of us who have had the privilege of loving a dog and being loved back could never be who we were born to be if we didn't have dogs in our lives.  No dogs ever replace another one....they merely ADD TO our ability to love!   Each dog reminds  us our hearts can shatter into a million pieces everytime one of them ttransitions.....and only another dog can help clue the pieces back together again.  Only another dog can help put color back intoour grey days.  And that is what our Spirit Angels want for us.  They want us to find love and joy and happiness and partnerships with another dog who needs the same.

What an insult, a personal aftont to our dogs if we never wanted another one!  They would think they must have been a bad dog if we never wanted another one!    And we all know Otis was a very, very good boy!!! :

So when do we get to see pictures of Mr Cow?  What's Mr Cow's name?   Did you know that Miss Cow is sending Teresa another Boy Cow ?  Yes indeedy,  Baby Boy Cow is due by the first of the year!!   Soooo happy!!!

Lots of hugs.

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

No I did not know there was a baby cow coming! How exciting.

I wanted to get another Fawn with black mask but I just couldn't do it right now. It is planned for the future however.

My moo dog is 2 yrs old and his name is Sir Lancelot. I'll post pics in another forum tomorrow.

thank you for your kind words.  I know Otis would not want me to be without a dog, he knows how special animals are to me and how great of a mom I am.  I'm positive he would want another dog to experience the kind of life he lived with us.

i did want to get a rescue but they all had issues with cats or kids or other dogs.

Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X.  Started limping on 12/24/16.  Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17.  Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17.   2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017.  4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17.  Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight.  Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.

A MOOOOO DOG NAMED SIR LANCELOT!!!!  PRICELESS 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

YES!   Otis wants you to get another dog for all the reasons you pointed out!!    You nailed it!

Soooooo many of our heroes headed to the Bridge the past couple of months.  And that translates to a whole lot of activity on their end as they prepare to send all their humans more dogs and cats to be loved! 🙂   I cannot imagine the excitement up there as they meticulously pick who they will send when.

Ah....shhhh........I just happen to know from a very good source at the Bridge (that Happy Hannah just cannot keep a secret!), that a couple of other pups have already been chosen and "on the way through time and space"!   I think some of their humans are already aware.....And to some it will be a surprise! 🙂

SIR LANCELOT, you just won the Puppy Lottery! 🙂

Hugs

I'm just catching up on the forum and am so sad to hear that Otis is now an angel. And now he's sending you a service dog? Otis is wise and loving.

I adore great danes and have followed an organization that breeds and trains danes as service dogs. Another Cow Dane - I look forward to hearing more.

I love Sally's words that another dog adds to our ability to love. Sir Lancelot will not replace Otis but will add to your life. Dear, sweet Otis will not be forgotten.

A huge hug,

Kerren and Tripawd Kitty Mona

Love the photo! Mooooo

As of today, it's been 6 weeks since Otis passed.  I finally threw out all his old dried drool covered toys. I stripped both of his main beds and washed them. (Gotta get them ready for our new Cow that's coming on 9/1). Whew did that boy stink like a beast.  A big stinky beast that we adored.  I'll miss that smell.  The house is just about purged of all his smell.  It's hard getting rid of things and cleaning his areas.  With each spot I clean a little more of him goes away.

I completely understand. I haven't been able to wash or do away with Izzy's beds. It's coming up on one month since she's been gone and I miss her. I miss her smelly breath and her incessant quest for more food. But it sounds like you are making progress. Progress is good.

Did I miss a photo of the new pup? Let me scroll back!

Momma to the world's most beautiful American Bulldog, Izzy!! Lost her front leg to OSA 9/18/15. Diagnosed w MCT in June 2016. Celebrated her 1 year ampuversary with knee surgery on 9/18/16! MCT recurrence in Dec 2016. Happy & hungry til nearly 14, earning her wings on 7/31/17.

That's so hard isn't it? But your heart told you it was OK so that's good. I'm glad you're making a fresh space for the new pup, congrats!

Ditto about getting rid of things, even like dog fur. I still have some of Jerry's things that I couldn't bear to part with. I also put two of his sweaters in ziploc bags, just to keep his smell as long as I could. It's still there last time I checked.

First I want to apologize for my very late condolences, my summer job kept me away for most all of June and July and then some family commitments popped up in August.  I was able to look in occasionally and knew that your brave boy was near the end of this journey.  He will always be with you- those special ones live on in our hearts.

Two months to the day after Tripug Maggie crossed I finally got around to pulling up the rug pieces I had put down on the back deck.  They looked terrible but Maggie would not go up or down the two stairs without them in place.  After I had taken them off I noticed that there was an outline of the rugs on the wood from sun fading and dust.  That was all it took to start the tears flowing again... I was thinking "all that was left was a faint outline...".

That's not true of course, Maggie makes her presence felt nearly every day in one way or another.  Her blanket stayed on my bed for a year after she passed, folded up next to my pillow, now it lives on the nightstand next to my bed.  I have a couple of her special toys, her harness is part of the 'Mag Tag'. But most important are the lessons I learned during our journey together.  It took a little while though for me to get past the worst of the grieving and begin to see the gifts she had left for me.

Karen and Spirit Maggie

Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.

Congratulations on the incoming Mr. Moo! Super exciting. Otis is definitely smiling--finally interviewed someone suitable! (I love that idea.) I so know that unwillingness to move things or wash them, but your spirit (and Otis's) moves you in honest steps forward.
