Yesterday Hallie went to be with Marshall. Steak wasn't her thing bc she didn't have many teeth since she was 15 1/2. She took her final breath with a mouthful of mashed up meatballs and sauce. It was her favorite!!!! Our hearts are broken again but she lived a full good life without major illnesses. We were lucky to have her for so long.

Oh I am so sorry... your family has had a lot of loss this year. My heart goes out to you but what a lovely long and happy life!

Hugs and peace,

alison with Spirit Shelby (and little Jasper lily)

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

So sorry for your loss Hallie...crying

She was definitely greeted at the Bridge by Marshall and no doubt he's showing his sis the ropes and introducing her to all the others.  To live to 15 1/2 years old is an amazing accomplishment...to have that much time with a beloved fur baby is indeed precious!!

I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

Hugs

Never enough time no matter what. And while you're still grieving so hard for Marshall. It just sucks.

Hallie has been loved and revered for almost sixteen years ....and she exited her earth clothes eating .eatballs and sauce...what a wonderful exclamation point to a life well lived!

And yes, your brain knows 15 1/2 years is a true gift...and your heart knows it is breaking all over again. Your heart knows the void is there all over again. I'm so sorry.

I truly believe Marshall was indeed there to greet her! She knew no fear and was glad to be home again with him feeling young and frisky!!

When you can, you know we have ro see pictures of your sweet Hallie!

How is Doc handling all this? Is he still too young to understand? I hope so.

We are here for you. We all know the drill far too well. Try and focus on the wonderful memories you shared and what a great teacher she was for .arshall...and then Marshall for Doc...and someday, Doc for another lucky pup. It'll be real interesting to see what Hallie and Marshall have planned for you and Doc. Right n ow though, they're too busy eating meatballs!

Just as we always think of .urphy when we see green beans, Shelby when we see bling, Ty when we see flip flops, Happy Hannah when we see ice cream (and M&Ms..or food just in general), Jerry when we see big sticks..we'll think of Hallie when we see meatballs!! And I could keep on with all the "trigger" memories for Harmony , Leland, Sassy and so many of our Bridge pups and cats, but have to stop somewhere!

Sending you extra hugs and love...

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Thanks Everyone!!!! I'm so upset. I can't believe she's not here. It feels like she has always been here. Doc is fine he is being extra loving and refuses to let me be sad if I'm near him.  I think that he's looking for her. He's not sad though but I think he's prob wondering where she is.  I should have brought him out to see her on the deck but I didn't since he wasnt nice to her. My son won't talk about Hallie.  I don't have any of her recent stuff bc she would soil everything on a daily basis we kept tossing it.  I have all of her old stuff from when she was younger.  She was a tiny girl between 8 and 9 pounds her whole life. She was a bichon/poodle mix. I'll see if I can post a picture but there are some on Marshalls facebook page. This one feels different than Marshalls loss.  Marshall got the short end of the stick. Hallie had a good long life but I want her back. She was my first baby.

Yeah, to have her presence with you 24 /7 for almost sixteen years, to have her with you on Marshall's journey, to have her with you before George...yeah, a whole lot to miss! Also, a whole lot of wonderful memories. Eventually those happy times will push forward. As you know though, it takes time...too darn much time.

I do look forward ro hearing more about her and seeing her pictures. Such a little, teeny weeny dog! Was she the boss of Marshall? And sweet little puppy Doc was "not nice" to her?? I think Hallie probably appreciated that he kept his distance the other day.

Hang in there kiddo. We are here. We hate that your Hallie has transitioned and we hate that it happened so soon after Marshall. I guess the Bridge needed someone to show them how to make meatballs.

Sending lots of love..

I am so sorry to hear this. No matter how many years we get with them, it is never enough. It is hard to adjust to how things are different now. This is so soon on the heels of losing Marshall. Please know you are in our thoughts. Lori, Ty & the gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

15 1/2 wonder years full of slobbery, bad breath kisses, snuggles late into the night, early morning barks, wet paw prints over the floor and unconditional puppy love....

how blessed you both were!!!  I know she knew how lucky of a dog she was... and you know.. down in your heart.. and when you looked in her eyes.. how much she loved you...

Yet... it hurts.. we all know that.. and we know it's coming for those furkids of ours when they are reaching their elderly years... it still hurts like f&*k....   and it doesn't matter that she wasn't a tripawd.. didn't have cancer..  she still has one of those doors in your heart with her pawprint on it...  and you can reach into that.. and smile eventually when you remember and talk about the silly things she used to do... or even the nasty things.. lol

But man oh man... I thought there was some shenanagins going on at the Bridge on Monday... I felt it when I was on the plane coming back from Scotland... and the pilot just called it turbulance.... (HA!!!!   ummm.. not!!)   I thought maybe it was just Franklin getting all those pig ears and ice cream cones ready for a Canada Day celebration.. (after all.. he did like to start to party early!!)  But it was when Hallie arrived!!!   The sounds of all those furkids, with Marshall leading the way, running to meet her was fantastic!!  And I am sure he was proudly introducing her all around the meadow... down the stream.. and into the cool, luxurious shaded groves.... saying... "Meet my sister Everyone.. she's here!!"   And.. by the end of the day.., I am sure she flopped exhausted against Marshall to catch her breath.... phew!!  what a pawty!

And now, even though Marhsall have many friends up there, he now has his big sis to curl up with at night to keep him company....  both strong, both pain free.. and both getting into some puppy mischief!!

You know we're here to listen to you get through it.. and share Hallie's legacy.....   we love hearing all about them.. .you know that!

hugs...

Christine... with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Ohhh I'm so sorry. 15 is such a long time but its just never long enough. If only we could only have them longer, like the healthy and happy little puppies they started out as. Hold those years you had together with her and Marshall close to your heart and you can get through this sadness.

May Hallie and Marshall's spirits comfort you now and always. My heart goes out to you.

Christine truly has a gift with words.  After reading this I want to go to the Bridge and hang out with all pups and curl up with my Leland and rest for a while.  This post is beautiful and brought peace to my heart since I've been missing my boy this week.

Hugs

Yes Sahana, I know you've just dealt with "the first year" Angelversay...ugh! Having Christine's delightful depiction of the Bridge helped for sure! As I've said many times over, thank you for staying here in the site and continuy to carry on Lelend's legacy through you support of others.
