Yesterday I said goodbye to my baby girl. Maggie, Maggie May, Magpie, Maggers, Maggie May Penny Liquorice, Girlie Girl, whatever she was called, the truth was she was one special dog.  She wasn't a tripawd.. but she was Tripawd Franklin's best friend.  She accepted everyone who came in this house, cats, dogs, and people. She didn't have a mean bone in her body. She was so trustworthy and loving. She was a hockey ball-a-holic.

She battled osteoarthritis for over almost two years and we thought we would lose her last year. But we got one more precious year of snuggles, tail wags and stinky breath kisses. We believe she had a stroke on Tuesday and when we came home, she was not good. She could no longer walk, her eyes were dull and her tail wasn't wagging much.  She told me it was time.  So made the call... and spent the night snuggling and kissing her brow, nose and ears...

My Fred was at work after we came back from letting Maggie go yesterday morning. He was in the yard and he said out loud... "Run fast girl, run run!!" And a white feather suddenly floated by him..... I believe in signs..... and Yup... She's ok.

My baby girl is ok....   running fast, fast FAST!!!  Just like she used to..  jumping high.. and breathing in that sweet smelling air...  curling up with Franklin and Diesel.... and waiting... till I can cradle her head and kiss her between the eyes again...

I will miss you terribly girlie girl and I will always love you. Wilson is going to be lost without you. Right now you are running fast, jumping, catching balls and smiling with Franklin and Diesel. The three amigos are together again!

I have chosen tears... and they will flow for quite some time girlie... now.. go get that ball!!!

Christine... with Franklin & Maggie in her heart ♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Christine, with tears in my eyes I am sending all my love and condolences to you and the pack. I'm so very sorry. I know how much Maggie meant to you and the grief you are feeling has got to be so tough. My heart goes out to you.

No matter how much time we get with our beloved pups, it's never enough. I love that she sent you a feather to tell you she's never far from the pack or your heart. What a smart girl.

Run Maggie Run, and give Franklin and Diesel kisses from all of us. Give an extra smooch to Jerry when you see him there too OK? xoxo

It is always so sad when we have to say goodbye! It doesn't matter how old or how young, how healthy or how sick, it never gets easier. I hope thinking of Maggie and her buddies together again makes it hurt a bit less.

Denise, Bill and Angel Ellie.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise

Tears are flowing here, too. I am so very sorry to hear that Maggie crossed the Bridge. She may not have been an actual Tripawd, but she certainly was an honorary one.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Run, run, run Maggie May!  By now she has met up with Franklin and all the others who have crossed before.  So hard to say good-bye, but what a wonderful life she lived, full of chasing balls and love.

She will always live in your heart and will always be by your side (along with Franklin, Diesel...).  The Tripawd Nation mourns with you and when you are ready we will celebrate her wonderful life too.

Oh Christine, I am so sorry, my heart aches for you. It is never ever easy. THAT sign, the feather floating by at that exact moment gives me chills! Maggie made it to the bridge and she just could not wait to let you know. I bet she was running so fast and zoomie'd right past an angel wing making sure that feather landed right where he wouldn't miss it. Run Maggie Run!!

Christine ... allow us ALL to be your BIG source of comfort right now and lean on us as you always allow us to lean on you ... I am so sorry for your loss. I know how special Maggie was to you and she's definitely with Franklin and sending you signs. I got chills when I saw that too. I know there are no words I can say to take away your pain but know that I am holding you in my heart and sending you as many hugs as I can!

Much love!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Tears we have chosen those wonderful tears.  We grieve with you.  I know you miss her terribly and I remember that day last year wehn you thought you were going to have to do this.  Maggie chose her own time and this time you did have to say that awful til we meet again.  She will be there to greet you with a ball in her mouth when its your time.  We support you in this time of grief.  Give Sassy big hugs Maggie.

When we are given the gift ofbeing able to lpve so e of our dogs and cats longer, it just means there is that much more to miss. And I know you miss Maggie terribly, and will for a long time. Unfortunately, you know that all too well.

But I tell ya' what, make copies of the picture of Miss Girlie Girl holding that hockey ball in her mouth with her tongue flopping out and post them all over your house. You will have NO choice but to smile through your tears.

You've done a beautiful job of celebrating Maggie with these great pictures and snippets of who she is. I've had the privilege and honor of being on this journey with you, Franklin, Maggie and Mr. Wilson for over 2 1/2 yrs. now. I've learned so much about grace and courage, and endless compassion for others through your example.

And, of course, I've learned from Fred and Moon Boy too...just not sure what yet!

Sending you so much love Christine...so much love.

Sally and My Chunky Spiritual Being Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS...and yeah, that feather...the timing...direct and uninterrupted connection with Maggie!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this. I know I'm late, but the tears are still real. Bless you.
