Over the Thanksgiving weekend, there were a couple heartwarming quotes offering words of wisdom floating around the forums. Here is one I received in an email from our friend coffeesister …
"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back up."
~ Vince Lombardi
(be thankful for everything…how we use our experience is what matters)
As the quotationary implies, there's nothing we can't find something to be thankful for so grab hold of life in ALL its shades of gray & make the most of it!
Summarizes the Tripawd Spirit quite well, me thinks. Anyone remember the others? Or if you have new uplifting quotes to share, please share them with a reply.
I am a basketball fan, most importantly college Bball, and every year about this time Jim Valvano's speech comes on, this year, I bawled through the whole thing.
Here's an excerpt
I urge all of you, all of you, to enjoy your life, the precious moments you have. To spend each day with some laughter and some thought, to get you're emotions going. To be enthusiastic every day and as Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Nothing great could be accomplished without enthusiasm," to keep your dreams alive in spite of problems whatever you have. The ability to be able to work hard for your dreams to come true, to become a reality.
If you have never heard this speech (on ESPN constantly) or actually read it, it's very poignant. Lots of sports talk, but a lot more besides that. A lot about using humour to cope…..
You can find the transcript here. Along with the YouTube broadcast.

Wow… quite a heartwarming inspirational speech indeed. Thanks for sharing!
I especially like the last thing he says…
"Cancer can take away all my physical abilities. But it cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul. And those three things are gonna carry on forever"
'It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.'
We just noticed this wonderful quote in the email signature of a customer who just purchased a Ruff Wear harness for her 115# Rottie who recently underwent amputation surgery …
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.
