It is Alexander's time. He is telling us in his own way. We will be bringing him in to his vet's office today and giving the big sweet boy kisses and saying goodbye. I don't even know how I'm going to do it, but I know I cannot let him be in pain and suffer………

I am so sorry to hear this.  Alexander is such a fine boy.  Most of us are faced with this decision at some point, and I so admire the strength that is shown when one of us is faced with the quality of life decision.

You are doing what is right for Alexander, and I admire and stand by you. It will, no doubt, be the most difficult part of the journey. I wish there were something I could do to take away the pain, but since that is impossible, know my thoughts are with you.

Oh my thoughts are with you today ….  Everyone is right…  this will be most likely the hardest part of this journey… but you are doing right by Alexander.

Many hugs to you from Maine,

Shannon, I am so very sorry to hear that Xander is hurting so much. As has been pointed out, quality of life is so very important to our tripawd friends. When it's not there, it's so hard to be forced into this decision. Quality of life is what brought us all here in the first place. We all tried or are trying to give our dogs the most bang for their buck, the best life for whatever time they have. You've done that for Alexander. You couldn't have done more. He knows this. And Xander's opinion of you is the only one that matters. To be held in high regard by our dog companions is the ultimate. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of your beautiful Xander.

I'm so sorry that you and Xander are at the end of your physical journey together.  As hard as it is going to be, I hope it is peaceful. Everyone here is with you in spirit.

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us. http://ranger.t.....pawds.com/

You con do this by remembering that releasing Xander from his broken body is the final gift you have to give him for all the unconditional love he has given you. He especially needs you to be strong and free of fear at this time. There will be plenty of time to be sad later. Bless you for all you have done for big Al. We're sending nothing but pawsitive thoughts your way. Peace.

Riley is right , I personally come to love most of the furkids that I meet on this site like one of my own , and my heart breaks right along with anyone that loses one. I only hope that in some way – our heartbreak can help ease your heartbreak during this time. We are sending warm thoughts and prayers your way.

I'm sorry you have reached the end of the Journey with Alexander.

You have the strength you need for today- you gained it on this journey with him- all the decisions you have made with love for your boy.

I hope you find peace knowing you did the last, best, thing you could for him.
