Dear Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle

It is so lovely to hear from you, and you have given me such great support during Hector 's journey, from just before he became a Tripawd to now, you have been with me and Hector from the very beginning.  I am finding all the support I am getting from you all is so comforting, and I am so pleased that Hector will be remembered by you all, as he was such a very special dog.  I always felt that he knew he would not get to a great old age, and that he would aim to live life to the full and make sure he had as much fun as he could each day.  Our memories of him are bringing a smile to our faces, and we are remembering the time when we moved to our present house 8 years ago which Hector loved, as it was opposite a park which he went to every day for his walks. Archie Hector's beloved daddy had to dig a trench in the garden to lay a pipe, and Hector loved sitting in the garden watching Archie dig, lay the pipe and then cover it with cladding. Archie part cladded the pipe and had to go and get more cladding, leaving Hector safely asleep in the house, but when he got back he found the part he had cladded had been dug up, cladding removed and shredded, as Hector had woken up, then out the dog flap and had a great time in the ditch, covered in shredded cladding. So much so that as fast as Archie cladded, Hector destroyed his work, in the end Hector had to stay inside and the dog flap covered.  Then when my elderly mum came to stay Hector enjoyed getting into her room and running off with her underwear, taking it very fastly down the stairs, out the dog flap and into the garden.

It is interesting what you say that Hector will choose another dog for us, as the pain is so intense I can't think of another dog, but our house is so empty without our adorable Hector, and the grief so very intense.

i am going to try and upload some photos but I may have to get onto our main computer as I am struggling uploading from the ipad

Thank you again for your kind words and support, they mean so very much to me.

Mary, yes it is easier to upload and embed/post pics from your desktop. For the iPad all you can do is paste a URL in your Forum post.

I'll send you details on Tripawd Tuesday.

Nice avatar pic! This Hector is soooo darn cute!

Thank you for letting us get to know Hector on such a "personal" and fun level! I know he is just so proud that you are recalling these specific a tics of his! Maybe each day you and your husband could write down five special trasured times with Hector that come to the forefront. Then compare notes and see what's similar, what's different. And of course, share the with us if you are up to it!

Sending lots of heartfelt hugs to you voth.

PS...This is now one of my favorite quotes that Elizabeth shared with us (Jake's mom, and now Tanner and Rosco's mom too)

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”

― Hunter S. Thompson

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
