Two years ago today, Murphy made his surprise journey across the Rainbow Bridge. We still miss him terribly, but realize that he is fully involved in the water sports program (along with his cohort Gus) and will be getting ready to plant this year's crop of green beans. I'm sure that Ollie is aware that today is a day that I need plenty of Labradoring, as he has been stuck to my side like glue.

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

I LOVE "labradoring" and I am quite sure you are right about sweet Ollie. So pleased he's taking care of you.

Isn't it amazing how our furfaces can sense when we truly need them? Good boy Ollie you take care of your Mama! Thinking of you today and have heard through the grapevine that Murphys planting extra green beans this year as they had a bit of a shortage last year due to the Murph eating extra. 😉. Oh sweet Murphy, we remember the shock all too well when you needed to head to the Bridge and join Gus. Such a rough time for your humans...for all of us....even though we knew you were just fine.
I can only imagine the Magnificent Green Bean Garden at the Bridge you are so carefully tending and guarding! Between being a Master Gardener and in charge of all Water Sports activities at the Bridge, it's hard to believe you have time to oversee Ollie too! Clearly you do since he knew to be extra loving to your Mom today.
We chuckle here all the time at what a PERFECT pup you and Gus picked out to bring joy and laughter and love back into your humans' lives! 🙂 🙂
You, and Gus too, will ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS be remembered here and celebrated 🙂 🙂 And we celebrated sooo many amazing victories with you! You never gave up; you just kept on keeping on as your humans loved you through any "challenge".''We adored, and continue to adore, every single picture and every single video of you.....even with that....er...."unusual" sound of that very special camera! 🙂

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Wow. Two years today? It can't be. We still talk about your sweet and handsome pup ALL THE TIME around these parts. We miss him, but his spirit endures, you and he continue showing people what is possible after a tragic accident. Murphy is the embodiment of HOPE and COURAGE, and so are you. Even as an angel, his fighting spirit helps others during their darkest hours.
THANK YOU Kathi, Garry, Ollie and Marvelous Angel Murphy. You have touched us all so much and we are stronger and better for all that you've done to show the world what is truly pawsible.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. While it is true that the grief tucks itself away with the passage of time, there are times like yesterday when it pokes its nose out and makes itself known. Having the friendship of kindred souls helps so much at times like these.

It does seem so surreal... it was Shelby's one year when we lost Murphy and it was a double-blow then too. Too many April Angels but you know they are having an epic celebration!!! I am so glad for our friendship that has come out of this terrible loss...

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
