Awww, I am so sorry that Murphy has gone on. Such a beautiful boy, I love his ears. What a lucky dawg he was to find a home with you. I too have a special hate reserved for hemangio, it is such a sneaky devilish cancer that freakin' comes out of nowhere. There are two many similar stories around here--a dog beats osteo and then, bam, hemangio sneaks up and blindsides you. And they're gone. One of our vet experts, Wookie's mom, even did ultrasound regularly on her pup and it STILL took Wookie from her. So. Not Fair. I lost my heartdog Rosa to hemangio over a decade ago and still miss her like crazy.

It was so nice to see Lisa comment on your post and to hear her memories of Murphy. What an amazing connector this community can be! She and her Zeus were here back in the day when I was alot more active here and I consider her to be part of my "tripawds cohort", people who were also active here at the same time. I am so glad that she was able to share her stories of Murphy with you and us.

I know the pain that Murphy is no longer by your side is awful now but I also know that your love for him and his for you will be in your heart forever and that fact will ultimately get you through the hellrealm of losing him.

Run free Murphy, you are a true Tripawd Warrior and will never be forgotten!

heartheartheart,

I saw that you were logged in today and offered some advice to someone getting their ho.e ready for a tripawd.....very kind of you....very nice way to continue to honor Murphy be helping others.

Just k kw we are still here for you. I know the grief is still there and your heart still hurts. Hopefully, some of the wonderful memories you and Murphy shared are becoming more and more prominent.

Has Murphy sent you any signs yet? Has he started sending you messages about bringing another dog into your neart that needs love? If not...he will!

Lots of love to you

PS...It made me smile to see Murphy's ADORABLE avatar photo again 🙂

Thank you, Sally. It's been hard without Murphy. He was so much if my life that it's so weird for him to be gone. And it's hard, there are times that I want to be involved and respond here, and then there are times that it reminds me too much of Murphy and everything we went through together.

I posted so much at first when he got sick and had his amputation, and I greatly appreciated all the advice and support. The longer he lived post amp, the harder it was to come here and read about other dogs and their families, it made me scared for when I would have to say goodbye to Murphy. And I know I got more time with him than many others, and I'm grateful for every day.

I have to commend you and the many other amazing individuals on here, constantly providing advice and comfort to people like me. I don't know how you are able to do it. You make Happy Hannah, Merry Myrtle, and Frankie proud each day!

I'm not sure about signs from Murphy. But I'm not sure he'd send any, it might not be his style.

And make no mistaw about it, Murphy, sweet, adorable Murphy is so very proud of you and so honored that you picked him (even though we know he picked you)!

Some people stay on the site after the amputation, some people stay off so they can focus fully on their pupsand, ultimately, their healing when the time comes. Some stay on periodically after their dogs transition, some don't. WHATEVER WORKS BEST FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL IS THE BEST WAY TO PAY TRIBUTE TO OUR SOUMATES! It is not anything that should be forced...that's a disservice to yourself.

You stayed in the moment with Murphy beautifully! You created so many happy memories that are absolutely priceless. Again, Murphy is so proud of you!

When you can, please share some of those fun memories...when it feels right. Had to chuckle about Murphy not sending signs because that's not his style! Murphy sounds like a chill kind of cool dude dog!way-cool

Lots of love ...and surrounding you with Murphy's cool Dingo styleheart

I'm so sorry your beautiful boy went to the Bridge. You gave him a wonderful home and so much love.  Although it's hard to let our pups go on ahead it is really an unselfish act of love to release them when the time comes.

I apologize for being so late here, I missed your original post, I wasn't on the site much in July.  I'm glad Sally bumped the thread so I was able to see it.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
