hi all,
i am mostly a lurker here and dont post much. Back abou tthe middle of October, Ember started limping. Meds from the vet did not help and an x ray was done a week later. Osteo was discovered in her left shoulder. She underwent amputation 3 days later. I chose chemo and after the stitches came out, we began a protocol specified by the greyt docs at OSU. On January 14 th, we were scheduled for round 5 of 6. Ember had begun to cough when excited just a few days earlier. Another x ray was taken and my baby's lungs were filled with tumors. I was given a prognosis of 1-2 months and I did not want to see my girlie fade away in a drug haze. I gave her my final act of love and released her instead. She went quietly and dignified, standing tall and proud until the first injection. the vet tech then gently supported her and placed her lovingly in my lap. i put my hand on her heart and softly stroked her fur, telling her how beautiful she was and how much i loved her. She passed quickly and quietly. My girl is gone.
