I never expected to post here until Eurydice's time to go on her solitary trip had come (and may that be in a veeeeeeery long and distant future!)
But today I ask for your prayers and loving thoughts for Eurydice's Mom, Capri 🎀💕🎀
She went out for a stroll with part of the breeders' pack and then had a sudden heart attack.
Marcos was there, he realised what was happening so he lied by her side, kissed her beautiful head, hugged her and told her how much he loved her and what a wonderful, wonderful girl she was ...
She was 10 and had the best life any dog could wish for, there were nothing but happy days in her life, filled with joy and love 💖💖
She will be the brightest of all stars in the sky tonight and will shine like no star has done before 🌟
Kinky will be there too 🌟🌟 these two gorgeous girls will now run free forever 🐾🐾 and will be forever young 💝
My heart is so, so sad 😔
I am greatful her passing was peaceful, Marcos was there to guide her and her life was so wonderful ...
May she shine for ever in energy form 💫💫💫💫💫
Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

So sorry for the loss of beautiful, Capri, but I am so glad, as you are, that Marcos was with her and able to let her know once more how loved she was as she left this world.

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
Teresa, I'm sorry for the loss of Capri. Although sad news it was a blessing that she was not in pain and Marcos was able to tell her how much he loved her. I hope he finds comfort in that.
As Carlene (who raises Great Danes as service dogs) says: You give them a happy live and then you let them sleep. I'm sure Capri served many by giving birth to pups who provided joy to numerous families just as she gave you Eurydice.

So sorry for the loss of this beautiful gentle giant. I hope Marcos can take solace in her life well lived and the fact he was such a large part of that loving life. So glad he was there with her in the end to give comfort. Fly free Capri!

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Oh no, we are very sorry. What a fortunate doggy to be so loved and cherished right up to her last breath. She was such a beautiful girl, now I see where Eurydice gets her looks from.

Oh Tetesa, I'm so saddened to hear this about beautiful Capri. So sad.
To think how this all unfolded though...if it had to happen......to be on a stroll....to be surrounded by the love and calming reassurance of Marcos...
For Marcos to recognize what was happening and to have an inner "calm" and an inner "peace" to just BE there for her....to gently guide her with his words as she transitioned shows the unbreakable connection and depth of his love.
For Eurydice to be able ro spend time with her Mom and Dad on her vacation is such a sacred treasure I know you and Marocs will hold in your hearts forever!!
The way I look at it, Eurydice now has TWO GUARDIAN ANGELS to watch over her and PROTECT her! The magic those two will be able to work on behalf of Eurydice will be .miraculous!

It is so comforting to have all of you lovely people by our side during our journey ... in the good and in the sad moments ...
Life is but a brief instant and I find it is all about surrounding ourselves with people and animals who are close to our souls and who share our values.
Capri had a wonderful life.
A truly wonderful life.
And she had Marcos unconditional love throughout those marvellous ten years.
Although his heart is broken he is thankful he could be there for her and she passed away painlessly.

What a beautiful girl, even though it is so hard when they leave us she had a wonderful life and what a beautiful girl (Euridyce) she has that is carrying on her beauty today! I am so sorry for the loss for Marcus as you can see he loves his pack dearly. Wishing you comfort during this time! Much love to you, Summer Patchy and Pack

Life is so unpredictable, we get constant reminders to treasure and appreciate each moment with our loved ones. I hope the wonderful life that Capri led brings some comfort in the coming days and weeks. A long, well lived life does not make the parting easy though.
