OfflineIt was an honor, yet sad to be able to do this for our Tasha.
Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

OfflineOh yea, I am crying now. Tasha was such a beautiful girl. The video also made me smile, her little friend and her guarding their place. Thanks Cometdog, a very thoughtful video.

Today would have been Tasha's 20 month Ampuversary. I miss her so much. What a bond we shared. I do feel at peace knowing she knew how much she was loved. On that final day the vet told us what a wonderful job we did taking care of our girl. We did give her a wonderful life and she lived each day to the fullest living life on three legs. We have absolutely no regrets about doing the amputation, it gave us an additional 19 months with Tasha. Those 19 months were filled with so much love, goodies, being the trucker dog, seeing snow for the first time, going to the cabin and rolling in the dirt and turning into a gray dog, so many tummy pets, riding in the cart out into the desert, going to the store and getting her special goodie, all the love and attention that was possible to give to her and she returned to us. Tasha, my hero, I honor you today and forever, you will forever hold a big piece of my heart. I love you my girl. What an honor it was to be your mom.

OfflineTasha absolutely had the best life any dog could dream of! Not only was she deeply loved and treasured by all of us, but she was a trucker dog! Some dogs never see anything and she got to see so much, riding around looking out the window from high up in a big truck! When I see a dog in a 18-wheeler, I'll always remember Tasha! TOOT, TOOT!
I just have to believe that all of our beloved pets are romping, playing, wrestling and even playing ball with each other and are forever happy. And the humans that we lose are there feeding them treats and playing with them. I just have to believe it. And Tasha, the good natured gal that she was is probably taking care of the little dogs for us. She is probably the gentle mother nanny to all of them!
We miss you Tasha!

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I believe that too! They are all there having a pawty, waiting for us…knowing we will be there…just a little later!
I also believe sometimes when they get a lil impatient, they check in on us..find us in a dream or quiet moment..always together even with address changes!
What a wonderful tribute to such a beautiful girl! I smiled & cried also…
And yes, I do believe they are playing together with humans that we have lost…and they are all waiting for us to join the pawty.

OfflineTasha, we miss you too.
Those memories are the things life is made of. When they're packed into the too-short life of a dog, they are even more precious. What a special place they hold in our hearts.
You gave her such an awesome life, no dog could ask for more. Long live Spirit Trucker Tasha!
