I thought today I could put on my 'funny face' and be the jokester and make this post light but NOT so...  I cannot believe 3 months ago today and the emotions are running so high. Today's thoughts are jumbled with remembering the good and bad times but most of all just wishing I could have one more wet kiss on the face and a wrestle on the floor.

Tahoe my buddy, each day you continue to teach me many things about life (though I don't always practice those learned lessons ..). Your loss in my life is beyond measure but I try each day to honour you.  You family here misses you soooo much and we hope that you are swimming, playing fetch and eating whatever you want …

I was going through all my hundreds (maybe thousands) of digital photos this week in preparation of compiling a printed album and found those two photos which were Mr T.

Thanks for listening everyone!!

Oh Stirling,

I just loved that beautiful face of your Superman.....I cannot believe it has been 3 months already. The saying, "Time goes quickly for those in joy, and time moves slowly for those who grieve" certainly applies to a lot of us here.....and I absolutely agree with you, what I wouldn't do for one more wet kiss on the face.

I do hope you are starting to have more of happy memories in your heart than painful ones, but I do know that takes forever seemingly....and remember, Tahoe is always by your side no matter what, and he will ALWAYS be in your heart.

Thinking of you and your Tahoe today,

Stirling,

for sure these three months have not been easy adapting to not having Tahoe physically by your side any more, although he is still with you in your heart.  In portuguese we have a word for this feeling - saudade - which was translated by the poet Fernando Pessoa as "the presence of an absence".   This will last, no matter how many months or years go by.  The grieving and sadness only time can cure, and time will take care of selectively pick the fond, happy moments to bring to your memory when you thing of your best buddy.

The photos are beautiful, and we are all united today honoring Tahoe's memory.

hugs,

Daniela ( & Johnnie )

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet.   Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues.   Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle.  October 17:  started having seizures.  Taking fenobarbital for seizures.  April 18: started prednisone.

Stirling I am so sorry.  I just doesn't seem like 3 months.  Tahoe is always beside you.  I know the grief can sometimes be unbearable.  Those days just suck to put it mildly & PG.  I don't wish this part of our journey on anyone.  Tomorrow Makes 15 months for us.  It is a date that we never ever forget.

I love these 2 pictures of Tahoe.  Thank you for sharing them

Hugs

Very caring responses from Michelle, Bonnie and Daniela.

Daniela's quote..."the presence of an absence"....Wow.....so profound!

Stirling, my heart breaks for you...and with you.

Tahoe....your best friend, your best buddy, your Superman, your Guardian....and he feels the same way about you. Tahoe knew how much you loved him. And he KNEW you would give him the gift of release while you...and he...still had "good experiences".

No, Tahoe didn't say "good-bye" Apparently you misunderstood. What he said was, "See ya' later! 'Heading on down to the lake for a swim. After that, gonna go have supper with Happy Hannah at her dessert table! She has eleven ice cream cones waiting for me...all topped with blueberries!! Yum!"

Hugs and love! And thanks for posting the pictures of Mr. Precious! Such a sweet, sweet soul. We love him....love him!

Your Girls

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Sweet and so very precious photos Stirling, thank you for the warm fuzzy of the day.

It's OK to feel how you do, and when you are ready to be the jokester again we will be here. For now, we love reading any memories you want to share with us, it's a beautiful way to honor a dog who touched your heart and ours.

Three months? It's insane how quickly time goes on isn't it? But like Sally said, there are no goodbyes in this world, just "see ya on down the road." Some day, you WILL be reunited with this very beautiful, special pup.

Three months?!? I know how hard it is and it feels like the grief will never end and it doesn't but it does become less severe and less gut-wrenching .... we are all here for you! We love and grieve with you!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

It's hard to believe it's been 3 months since Tahoe went to the Bridge.  Time just keeps moving forward no matter how much we want it to go back.  Like you I wish I had more time with my Leland...I wish he was still here and that we could have celebrated his 5th Birthday this past Monday.  Every month I keep marking off so to speak every month that he's been gone.

Thank you for sharing the photos of Tahoe and know that he will always be remembered here.  I'm glad to hear that you've started working on the photo album of Tahoe's life.  That was a good thing for me to do for my Leland and there's way more pictures of a happy and healthy Leland than there are after all his surgeries and the amputation which only encompassed a month and a half of his wonderful life.  That photo album you're creating will bring you comfort once it's done...it's just getting through all the emotions while creating which is hard.

Sending you a tight hug!

SAHANA!!! Geez...can't believe you didn't hear about LELEAND's birthday bash at the Bridge!!! You know all that sniw that's been falling across the country? Yeah, that was left over confetti they threw at Leland when he walked in to his surprise pawty!! Apparently they have an abundant supply of white confetti at the Bridge!

You guys and girls rock!! I can always count on Team Tripawds to lift my spirits after such a lousy day!

There are so many "firsts" that it seems relentless that you move from milestone to the next, onto a special occasion, and so on.

With much appreciation,

Stirling and Mr. T

3 months is still so fresh...  at 3 months for Franklin, I could still smell him on his bed... I could up to almost a year stil lsmell him... but then it faded away... and that is ok because I know he is still here with me in spirit and love.

Although the picture cruising sometimes brings tears.. it brings many many smiles as well... please keep sharing them.. cause we love to see memorable pictures of our tripawds angels.... we love to read stories of the past and expecially ones that make us laugh out loud with you...

Just because they are no longer with us physically.. doesn't mean they are forgotten.... keep sharing.. we love it!!

Christine.. with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
