Hi Sheryl,

Yeah for you and Brady, it seems you are both doing so well.

I just wanted to let you know that my vet did not charge for any followup visits or concerns related to the amputation. That may also be the case with Brady's vet so you shouldn't have additional costs. I hope you don't, it's additional stress to an already stressful situation.

Wishing you and Brady some relaxing days during this recovery phase.

I hope I am posting updates right ?

Perfect! We'll just update your topic title and you can just keep on posting replies to provide updates here. Or of course, you can feel free to post updates in Brady's blog. Many members do both, posting in their blog and updating a forum topic with links to their latest posts.

Kerren made an excellent point, post-op consults and conversations are typically no-charge.

When Harmony had her surgery, the vet kept an open-conversation with me via email. I can't tell you how valuable that was for me. It really did keep me from worrying all my hair out! Maybe you can do something similar. Possibly taking pictures of him and sending reports to the vet would help you both.

I'm thrilled that Brady is doing great. Keep up the wonderful job Mom!!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

Hi Everyone !  Sorry to be away for a few days but I have obviously been trying to give Brady all the attention I can as well as staying on top of all the other life stuff too.

I am pretty sure I uploaded Brady's new photo properly <3

It is amazing to me looking at his previous photo with his broken leg and now without the leg......I swear he is smiling in this pic !  LOL  xo   I definitely feel a shift in his energy of "relief"   and that he is getting his "sparkle" back :)

I am so proud of him !!!!  And in this short time, in this photo I see him as a more mature pup and Our Warrior Pup getting through our personal ordeal as well as he has.

Now at !!! 6 days !!! after surgery : Brady is doing amazing :) He had his re-check appointment last night and they are so happy with how he is doing. No issues at all.  We have been so very lucky.

A week from tomorrow his stitches come out and hopefully we are done with vet visits for a while. As much as I LOVE our vet we are so happy Brady is finally on the mend and we are getting used to our NEW normal with our Brady Boy <3

His pain really seemed to be worse on the surgery day. And after that each day he has just been getting better and better.   It's just been amazing how quickly even his pain has seemed to subside already without being heavily medicated !  We have been able to cut down on his pain meds very quickly it seems.

Most everything you all told me has been spot on !

He IS still our Brady <3  It hasn't been at all as hard as I thought it would be to get used to "seeing"  him as a tripawd. I thought I would feel sad at times, but not at all.  I just feel so blessed to still have him with us.

Our animals are just AMAZING in how they get through what is thrown their way !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   (Sorry, probably overusing AMAZING but .......WOW ! )......

This experience, as stressful, sad and scary as it has been has now opened up a new realm of happiness and gratitude I feel in my heart and soul.  I consider myself to have always been a very compassionate person, but this has helped me grow as a person AND "animal lover"  that much more <3

One thing I have found to be a major god-sent.......was using the Pro Collar vs. the traditional cone / E collar.  Brady as I have said tends to be very feisty and always gets worked up when feeling restricted in any way.  The Pro Collar has been so much more comfortable for him !  Almost like he has this constant pillow to rest on through this surgery healing process.  The Pro Collar allows him his peripheral vision as well as be able to eat and drink with the collar on.....as opposed to the cone restrictions...... which I feel has helped him in a HUGE way  to be more calm and not get so agitated through this experience. Do I sound like an a commercial or what ? lol........I strongly suggest it ! xo

I am sending out hugs to all of you as well as a BIG Thank You !!!!  I couldn't have gone through this without you all ! xo

I will be sure to stay in touch and send more photos as Brady gets better xo

With Much Love & Gratitude,

Sheryl, Bruce & Brady <3

I'm just smiling from ear to ear over here...big-grinbig-grinbig-grinbig-grinbig-grin

I'm so proud of little Brady and happy that his recovery is going tremendously well!!!  His new avatar pic is just precious and you're right he does appear happier.  I'm sure he has to be without lugging that casted leg around.

Our little furkids are AMAZING in how they bounce back!!  They truly teach us how to live each day!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of Brady and hearing how the little guy is doing!

Yea for Brady!

I used the pro collar when my quad pug had knee surgery- it worked great for him.
