Yes, some rescues will go the cheaper route, who can blame them? The vet will likely go with the opinion of whoever is paying the bill. But you can also point both to the info we shared here. If they insist on a partial amp, I would get something in writing that says they will pay for a second surgery if the stump won't heal. Just a thought.

That's a great suggestion! I've thought about offering to pay for the scapular amputation if the issue is just money. It's nice that they are offering to pay at all, but I'd rather pitch in and avoid another surgery if possible. He has his first vet appointment on Monday and I will be meeting someone from the rescue while I'm there - so answers soon hopefully!
