You are absolutely right, the post op recovery is more difficult when you have a puppy patient! Plus, remember that everything is so new to him, including his new home, so it's a lot to cope with. Keep an eye on things and try not to panic, sounds like this is a darn good recovery!

No apologies needed for not posting, we know how busy life gets. Just glad to hear things are overall good.

Went to the vet early this morning and they confirmed my suspicions that he had just been bothering the wound. There seems to be a small section that isn't healing as fast so it's scabbed over and very itchy. They suggested I keep the t-shirt on as long as he needs, of course. However, he was also diagnosed with pyoderma :/ I asked if they could give him a bath and they found two lesions on his belly underneath the fur. They're round, a little scaly, and kind of spotted. They washed him with medicated shampoo and gave me some wipes to clean the lesions with a couple times a day. That could also be contributing to the poor boy's itchiness!

He loved his time at the vet though! I left him there in puppy day care while I went to work and he got to spend the day with his friends at the vet. They are basically dead on Mondays so he got to spend the whole day running around the office and sitting at the desk with his bff Deb, the receptionist. They were also nice to enough to try and tire him out as much as possible, I guess they could tell I desperately needed some sleep! So Jaime came home all sleepy and cuddly! I'm so lucky to have found my veterinarian office, I love both of the vets and all of the staff there and they adore Jaime!

Aww that sounds like a great clinic! I'm glad you took him in so now you can get that itching resolved. It makes me scratchy just thinking about it!
