Grayon is doing is doing very well. I am very pleased with his progress. My concern though is he doesn't want to leave his stitches alone. He has his cone on bu!t is still manages to get to his stitches . What can I do? I thought I read somewhere on this site that onesies help. How do I put it on him? Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance.

That's great news!

Yes, the stitches thing can be a difficult thing to deal with, they get so itchy! He's pretty flexible, how is he getting around his cone of shame ? Is he wearing a t-shirt underneath? You might also want to try something very gentle around the stitches (not on them), like aloe vera. But be sure to ask your vet just in case.

I know I've seen the trick to using onesies too, but I can't seem to find it by searching. I used "baby" and "stitches" when searching but no luck. Anyone?

So happy that Grayson is doing well--even getting around that cone of shame seems to mean he's pretty flexible. We used T shirts on Lily. I tied the bottom of them with an elastic hair band so they wouldn't drag on the floor, and so she couldn't get under the shirts. So glad he is home with you.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Hi Grayson's Mommy

when Fizz had her leg removed she was a total nightmare with her stitches !! In the end I used Bi~Carbonate of Soda which is the white cooking powder for Biscuits ???

I know it sound's weird but it worked and if in doubt taste it ?!? I rubbed it around the stitches NOT on the incision as this may hurt but on the skin around it !

I put it on Fizz and removed her flower pot helmet and she promptly tried to chew her stitches she tasted the Bi~Carbonate curled up her nose and shuddered ugh !! and she never tried to eat them again ??

If it worked on a rottweiler I think it may work on Grayson superstar

Take care and I hope it works

Louie just came home from Amp yesterday and the Dr told us to take a loose tshirt to cover the incision so Louie wears a beautiful pink tshirt with one arm hole cut completely out. All you have to do s make sure the arm hole on the other leg isnt tight.
